The offsite workshop is the culmination of an annual planning process which starts in July and sees the engagement of units from across the organisation. The event consisted of presentations and discus- sions around the strategic objectives for the rolling three-year plan and the main priorities for their im- plementation. In December the Board meets again to formally discuss and approve the Business Plan, including the more detailed Budgets 2022. Commenting on the outcomes of the event, CEO Marcel Cassar said: "The workshop is an important date in our calendar as it brings together months of active deliberations and feedback in a structured document which then becomes our new Business Plan. It is an inclusive process reflecting best gov- ernance practices and it challenges our business model, culture, brand, customer trends as well as the Group's transformation and innovation agen- da." CORINTHIA Hotels has announced an exciting leadership change at its iconic Corinthia Palace in Malta: the appoint- ment of Alexandra Pisani as the Hotel's new General Manager. Pisani succeeds Adrian Attard in the role and steps up from her previous position as Corinthia Palace's Hotel Manager. The luxury hospitality sector has formed a huge part of Pisani's life. Hav- ing grown up around hotels and spent her early years at Corinthia Palace, she received an invaluable education in the quality-of-service guests have come to expect from a Corinthia hotel. With Corinthia Palace leading the way in five-star amenities and premi- um customer service in Malta and be- yond, Pisani had the opportunity to learn from the best. Travelling with her family in her formative years, she was immersed in the world of hospitality by her father Alfred Pisani, the eminent founder of the Corinthia Group. Men- tored by managers of Corinthia hotels, teams, and projects, she discovered her passion for service and hospitality, which has fuelled her successful career to-date. Pisani had her first taste of on-the- job training in internship positions at Corinthia hotels in a variety of locations, before training at the École Hôtelière de Lausanne, the highly regarded hospital- ity management school in Switzerland. Having worked in Human Resources for Corinthia London, she went on to work as the Quality and Standards Manager for the Corinthia Group, a role that gave her the opportunity to further develop the Group's landmark standards and quality approach. Now, having most re- cently worked as the Hotel Manager for Corinthia Palace, Ms Pisani is eager to announce a series of exciting develop- ments for the property in the New Year. "I've come in as General Manager at a very exciting time," Pisani said. "Next year marks the 60th anniversary of the Corinthia Group – a now-global company that was started right here at Corinthia Palace in 1962 by my father and his brothers. Today I am proud to continue that legacy." New developments have already be- gun, marking a time of change for the luxury hotel. Josephine's speciality cof- fee concept recently opened in the hotel lobby, and it has been announced that Michelin-starred Maltese restaurant Bahia will soon make the move from its Lija location to the Corinthia Palace. "This hotel is a special place. Not on- ly is it a charming retreat, but it's also unique to Malta. Currently in its his- tory, it's time for a rebirth. We want Corinthia Palace to be the best in Mal- ta – and the best of Corinthia. I am thrilled to lead this wonderful team on that journey as we continue to celebrate and craft the real magic of Malta." Alexandra Pisani has been appointed Corinthia Palace General Manager
