This challenge is an annual international beer competition and is a professional competition among brewers. The Brussels Beer Challenge is a platform for interna- tional brewers to network and actively promote their product. In addition, the competition aims to support the culture of beer. The international panel of 75 independent experts and beer critics tasted more than 1,800 beers from all over the world. They awarded Bavaria a silver medal in the category Lager – International Style Pilsner. The gold medalist is a non-European beer therefore making Bavaria the Best Pilsner in Eu- rope. ''We are proud to be the local representatives of Bavaria, a beer with over 300 years of tradition brewed in Holland by the Royal Swinkels Family Brewers. This award gives the recognition that Ba- varia deserves as we continue to elevate this Brand in our local market'' said Milena Livada, Head of Sales & Marketing at GSD Marketing Ltd. Bavaria Pilsner best Pilsner of Europe at the 2021 Brussels Beer Challenge Smart Cloud presented to Maltese business community MELITA Business and Smart Technologies Limited present- ed Smart Cloud, their man- aged Cloud services brand to the business community dur- ing an event held at the Melita Data Centre in Madliena. The attendees were also addressed by representatives from Oracle and HPE, two of the main in- frastructure suppliers to Smart Cloud. Smart Cloud combines the unique connectivity and host- ing capabilities of Melita Busi- ness with Smart Technologies' expertise in Cloud and custom integration solutions. Through this combination, Smart Cloud provides virtual machine and desktop Cloud backups, vir- tual machine hosting, disaster recovery, and options for data storage and management, in- cluding hybrid solutions and colocation. Smart Cloud also provides the platform required for the integration and develop- ment of business applications, including those driven by Ar- tificial Intelligence. Guests at the event had the opportunity to tour the Melita Data Centre which is the only purpose-built facility of its kind in Malta. Robert Azzopardi, System Ar- chitect at Smart Technologies, gave a detailed overview of the infrastructure and technology provided by Smart Cloud and the managed services these en- able. In addition to highlighting current services, Azzopardi also discussed how Smart Cloud's services are expected to devel- op in the coming years, under- lining the advantages of having a flexible, local Cloud supplier, with full transparency of costs. Malcolm Briffa, Director of Business Services at Melita Limited, explained, "By bring- ing together the strengths of Melita Business and Smart Technologies, Smart Cloud is able to offer a unique proposi- tion to companies operating in Malta. Denis Stanarev- ic, Territory Manager ESE and MAP at HPE, presented a stra- tegic overview of how Cloud solutions, combined with Ar- tificial Intelligence and the growth in connected devices, are transforming business glob- ally. This transformation is en- abling faster and better decision making while ensuring security and reliability.
