maltatoday | SUNDAY • 6 FEBRUARY 2022 4 ART Art by the Seaside Gallery in Isla is latest exhibition space to open its doors ART by the Seaside Gallery Isla was officially open in November last year, where we had a solo and a collective exhibition back to back, both of which were very successful events. The gallery is situated just at the seafront of the Isla prom- enade, the interior boosts the Maltese typical tiles, and the interior changes according to the set up of each exhibition. As a gallery we try our best to pro- mote emerging artists, not to the extent of excluding already established artists though. We try to keep a balance, but we believe that Malta boosts a lot of artistic talent, but unfor- tunately we tend to hear a lot about the same artists. Art in my opinion has during COV- ID years profoundly expanded. Creating a movement where- by the general public is more appreciative towards the art world, and is both ready to in- vest and acquire diverse pieces of art. Coming up on the 4th Feb- ruary and ending on the 18th February Andrew Zarb will be presenting a body of photo- graphic works, entitled "Le- to- Goddess of Motherhood". Being his first solo exhibition, Andrew entwines the beau- ty of women, contemplated in Greek mythology, to the beauty of all women ``the goddesses" of today's world with a spe- cial focus on motherhood. All women in photos are uniden- tifiable, are not professional models, but are all mothers. The scars of motherhood be- ing those which are physical and well as psychological are displayed through the rawness of each photo exhibited. (more info can be provided) The other exhibition is a col- lective exhibition which will run from the 4th to the 18th March 2022, with the theme " Reflections and Shadows of the Soul"- an introspective experi- ence. We will be having rough- ly 16 different artists partaking in this exhibition, whereby dif- ferent sculptures and paintings will be on display.
