maltatoday | SUNDAY • 17 APRIL 2022 17 COMMERCIAL Rouge Allure L'extrait: the new high-intensity lip colour IT is part of a daily routine, and yet it is anything but trivi- al. What do we hope to achieve by applying lipstick? The sym- bolism of it often goes beyond a simple desire to accentuate our lips with colour. We wear it for the boldness it inspires in us, the confidence it gives us. The per- fect lipstick is one that makes us feel our best. It stays vibrant and comfortable all day long; it highlights rather than dulls. It pulls a makeup look or an outfit together. It reflects an intention, a style. By creating ROUGE ALLURE L'EXTRAIT, CHANEL imagi- nes the ultimate lipstick, which reveals the strength and power of those who wear it. More than just a lipstick, it offers concen- trated colour, radiance, and care, creating an intense, satiny makeup look that is nothing short of daring. Its slim new case has been redesigned to fit a golden refill cartridge, with- out losing the iconic ROUGE ALLURE click. With ROUGE ALLURE L'EX- TRAIT, makeup becomes a way of making a statement and fully asserting one's individual- ity. Apply with confidence, de- fine with precision. Marsovin releases new vintage of their 'Artist Edition' wine THE Marsovin Winery has released the 2021 vintage of its 'Artist Edition' wine range, 1919. The wines are branded as 1919, to commemorate the year that founder of Marso- vin, Chevalier Anthony Cassar, started his business within the wine industry. Marsovin has a long-estab- lished reputation as a winery that firmly supports the Mal- tese art scene. The concept of 1919 is to combine the culture of wine with art, through the means of a wine which repre- sents the marriage and long his- tory between Marsovin and the local arts. Every year a Maltese artist is commissioned to create three paintings, which are used as the main feature on the labels of the 1919 white, rosé and red wines. This is the 18th vintage which the winery has released, having featured paintings of re- nowned Maltese artists by: Andrew Borg, Debbie Caruana Dingli, Kenneth Zammit Tabo- na, Andrew Diacono, Gabriel Caruana, James Vella Clark, Andrew Micallef, Celia Borg Cardona, Denis Borg Milo, Seli- na Scerri, Mark Mallia, Cath- erine Cavallo, Rupert Cefai, Richard Saliba, Victoria Tonna and Mark England. The vintage labels this year feature paintings from Debbie Bonello, who wanted to express the similarity between painting and wine making to demon- strate the passion that goes on for both processes. The col- ours used were inspired by each bottle, giving each painting its unique palette scheme. Debbie expresses that when a painting is observed, the viewer has the opportunity to have their own interpretation which in turn can lead to any imaginary situ- ation. She states that "It's quite a lovely feeling, knowing that I am part of this culture. It's quite an honour for me". Marsovin CEO, Jeremy Cassar said that he is "looking forward to many years to come to con- tinue this tradition for as many years as possible." The 1919 white is produced from a blend of three grape varieties; the indigenous grape Girgentina, Chardonnay and Moscato, displaying fruity aro- mas of apples, limes and a flo- ral hint of orange blossom. The rosé is made from the in- digenous Ġellewża, Grenache and Shiraz varieties displaying a clear and vibrant colour with fresh aromas of rose petals, ripe cherries and light miner- al, herbaceous undertones. On the other hand, the 1919 red is made from 100% Ġellewża. The harvested Ġellewża, bunches are laid down to dry in the sun for a number of days before being vinified, resulting in a concentration of the Ġellewża grape's natural sugars, acidity and flavours. The 1919 range is available on www.marsovinwinery.com and selected restaurants in Malta and Gozo.
