maltatoday | SUNDAY • 30 OCTOBER 2022 18 COMMERCIAL McDonald's launches mobile order and pay MCDONALD'S is launching Mobile Order and Pay, a new App functionality that now allows customers to use their app to order and pay and then choose their preferred pickup method – either Counter, Table Service, Drive-Thru or Curb- side. "Mobile Order and Pay takes ordering food from McDonald's to a totally new level because it gives customers more freedom to order food when they want and collect it in whichever way they prefer," explains Louise Galea, Head of Marketing at Premier Restaurants Malta, op- erators of McDonald's in Malta. Once users are logged in the McDonald's app, if location ser- vices are enabled, the app will automatically select the nearest restaurant and if not, a map will indicate all the available restau- rants which customers may se- lect from. Once the items have been se- lected, customers can tap on the checkout button and select their desired pick-up option by choosing from Counter, Table Service, Drive-Thru or Curb- side. These options may vary by restaurant and time of day. Customers who select Table Service will need to enter the Table Number, confirm the res- taurant, settle payment, and sit back and relax until their order is brought to their table. Customers opting for the Curbside service can park their car in designated curbside park- ing slots and have their order delivered to their car. This op- tion is currently only available at the MIA & Għargħur restau- rants. This newly launched Mobile Order and Pay option also al- lows customers to place their order from the comfort of their home up to 2 hours before pick-up. Once they arrive at the Drive-Thru, they will need to tap on 'MyOrder' and share the order number at the Drive- Thru, so that the kitchen can start preparing their order. Payments are automatically processed through the app when the order is submitted and no payment is required at McDrive. "At McDonald's, our commit- ment is to offer all our custom- ers quality food, more conven- ience through a better service and more value. The app ena- bles customers to earn points on everything they purchase so ordering food through our Mo- bile Order and Pay will still earn them points for every €1 spent," concluded Louise Galea. Greens Supermarket are the Marlene 'Hall of Apples' contest winner GREENS Supermarket has con- tinued its award-winning ways by being selected as the win- ner of Marlene's 'Hall of Apples' Contest, underpinning the Sam- mut family's reputation as one of Malta's most successful retailers. Marlene is Malta's number one apple brand, with "the daughter of the Alps" being the firm fa- vourite of Maltese and Gozitan households. The Marlene 'Hall of Apples' Contest challenged retailers to create the most attractive ap- ple displays with Greens Super- market's Katy Bernui and her team coming out on top from a multitude of entrants, with the competition covering large and small supermarkets, wholesalers and traditional fruit shops. The Greens team join international winners with a trip to South Ty- rol to visit the alpine-mediterra- nean apple orchards. Greens Supermarket in Malta and Gozo have recently been rec- ognised for their various business efforts at last year's Local Busi- ness Excellence Awards by being awarded in multiple categories including walking away with the 'best supermarket of the year' award. Greens Supermarket is a fam- ily-run business which has been in the supermarket trade for over 30 years and operates a facility of over 4,000 square metres in one of Malta's most prestigious neighbourhoods. The compa- ny employs over 300 personnel and is run by second-generation Sammut family members. The Sammut family also operates Greens Supermarket in Gozo at the Dukes Shopping Complex. The company has opened its third outlet within the Central Business District in Mrieħel. Matthew Sammut, Director, Greens Supermarket chain, said: "We take great pride in setting up attractive displays for our cus- tomers. We are delighted that Marlene has recognised the quality of our merchandising and we look for- ward to visiting the South Tyrol to see the orchards, packhouses and headquarters and to learn more first hand about this in- credible brand." Marlene's apple proceeds on its path of differentiation and valori- sation in the eyes of the Maltese consumer through a trendsetting and inviting apple exhibition at the point-of-sale. Katy and her team have created the most beau- tiful Marlene apple display and we look forward to host them in South Tyrol soon.
