maltatoday | SUNDAY • 20 NOVEMBER 2022 12 COMMERCIAL Von der Heyden Yachting offsets 126 tonnes of CO2e in hydroelectric power VON der Heyden Yachting, a subsidiary of Malta-based in- ternational investment firm Von der Heyden Group, has partnered with industry ex- perts Yacht Carbon Offset to address their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions impact. The company, flying the Riva exclusive dealership flag, has worked with the specialised environmental service organ- isation to offset the net envi- ronmental impact of its past 55-charter season around Mal- ta and the Italian Riviera. Head of Sustainability for the Group, Anuschka von der Heyden, said, "Although we take the precautions to en- sure an eco-conscious ethos in everything that we do, we are mindful of the superyacht industry's real impact on the environment. While we see the industry's technology devel- op more sustainably, Von der Heyden Yachting will be com- mitted to counterbalancing its impact through investing in re- newable energy." Von der Heyden Yachting has offset 126 tonnes of CO2e by supporting the development of the Soubré Hydroelectric Pow- er project in Cote d'Ivoire. Developed under the um- brella of the United Nations to meet emissions reduction goals, the offsetting tool works to counterbalance unavoidable greenhouse gasses. Since its in- ception in 2008, Yacht Carbon Offset has offset over a quarter of a million tonnes of CO2e in renewable energy sources. Over the last six months, Von der Heyden Group has record- ed ESG-focused activities, in- cluding its LEED Gold level planning in its newest A-class building development in Poznań, preparations to align with the European Commis- sion's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) coming into action in 2024, as well as its participation among 191 other countries for World Clean Up Day. The Group also recently cel- ebrated the official opening of its 5th catering establishment Hammett's Monastik, whose farm-to-table concept focuses on sourcing at least 90% of its produce from sustainable, or- ganic, and local sources. ATLAS Insurance has teamed up once again with TVMSport for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and will be holding the 'Atlas Matchday Mo- ment', thereby offering football fans the chance of winning an Official World Cup Adidas Match Ball worth €150 every day, by se- lecting the best moment of every match day during the tournament. These could be a display of skill, gestures of sportsmanship and fair play, as well as fan reactions and other special moments that only a World Cup can offer. In order to win with the 'Atlas Matchday Moment', fans need to tune in every day to TVMSport and follow the post-match discussion, during which the three most mem- orable moments of the matchday will be aired. Atlas will post these moments on its Facebook page the following day, with page followers being invited to vote for the best moment using reactions. In the evening, during TVMSport, the winning moment of the previous match day will be announced, and a page follower will be chosen at random from all the voters of this winning moment. "Following the success of this initiative in UEFA Euro 2020, the 'Atlas Matchday Moment' will return for the FIFA World Cup," said Robert Micallef, Chief Com- mercial Officer of Atlas Insurance. "This initiative is just one in a se- ries by Atlas Insurance that pro- mote sports of all kinds to a wide audience.
