Ex-police officer on trial for raping colleagues while on duty in 2018 MATTHEW AGIUS THE trial without jury of a former policeman ac- cused of repeatedly raping two female colleagues in 2018 started yesterday with the court hearing details of the victims' ordeal. Judge Consuelo Scerri Herrera is hearing the case of a 33-year-old male officer who sexually harassed, repeatedly groped and later raped a female officer in the kitchenette at the Msida police station where they were stationed. The man is also charged with sexually assaulting another female officer in a po- lice car in the months leading up to March 2018. At the time, the first victim was in a relationship and had a child, while the other was a 19-year-old new recruit. Inspector Mark Mercieca was the first to testify how he had been approached by one of the victims, who recounted her ordeal. A second woman had also come forward and gave a similar account. The abuse had started in October 2017 and the victim told her shift sergeant the next day, but asked him not to speak to the defendant about it out of fear. The molestation soon escalated to rape, Mercieca said. On one occasion, the man had pulled her into a room, taken off her trousers and underwear and raped her. He ejaculated on the floor and cleaned up afterwards. On another occasion, the female officer and a ser- geant had been playing a video game when the de- fendant began teasing her. After the sergeant had gone home to sleep, the defendant raped her. 'The money supplied for the fraudulent contract belongs to the people' Yellow card for Abela... but will PN gains last? A former policeman accused of repeatedly raping two female colleagues in 2018 PN leader Bernard Grech says public is sole victim of fraudulent hospitals deal in build up to Thursday's parliamentary discussion on a motion asking government to sue Steward
