maltatoday | SUNDAY • 1 OCTOBER 2023 10 COMMERCIAL Marsovin releases Grand Maître 2021 MARSOVIN Winery proud- ly announces the release of Grand Maître 2021, 'Fra' Ra- mon Despuig'. This vintage marks the 24th edition of the much-loved f lagship wine, produced with finesse since its first vintage in 1998. Produced under the exclusive appointment of the Maltese Association Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Grand Maître is an exceptional wine that pays homage to a different Grand Master in chronological order. The 2021 vintage honours the esteemed Fra' Ramon Despuig. Grand Maître is a true testa- ment to Marsovin's commit- ment to excellence. The hand- picked Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes originate from Għajn Riħana, Marsovin's private estate lo- cated in the breathtaking Gha- jn Rihana Valley. The terroir provides the perfect environment for the growth of these noble French grape varieties, with 10,000 vines thriving in arid land and clay-rich calcareous soil. "Grand Maitre symbolizes Marsovin's commitment and passion to winemaking and viticulture as well as its to ap- preciation and respect toward the Sovereign military order of Malta." stated Jeremy Cassar CEO and 4th Generation of the Cassar family. Although the 2021 vintage started with an early down- pour in Autumn followed by a warm winter, Spring brought a cold spell, delaying bud bursts. While the temperature eventu- ally picked up, it led to a very hot summer, resulting in har- vesting being as late as early October. The deep ruby-colored wine has characteristics of a fine wine that would age well. The nose detects fruity essence, mainly black cherries, and raspberries, balanced with hints of sweet spice. The palate follows suit with a full-bodied structure that contains ele- ments of oak and vanilla. For information and orders of Grand Maître, you can call the Marsovin Cellars on 79231919 or send an email to cellars@ marsovinwinery.com World renown opera star Luca Minnelli, known worldwide as 'The Voice of Venice' will perform together in Malta on Saturday18 th November, for what promises to be one of the best organised and unique song, musical and dance extravaganza of the year. The concert, the second consecutive one being held in the shoulder month of November by Dynamic Events Ltd, is a continuation of the successful gala concert held last year at the Eden Arena, which attracted over 2,000 seated dining guests, and who gave the Italian tenor no less than six standing ovations during the unforgettable evening. It is the second time that the Italian singer will be performing in Malta alongside his accomplished orchestra featuring world famous Maestro Diego Basso and Maestro Daniele Labelli, with star musicians Alvise Seggi and Nicola Breda, who both can play over seven different music instruments, and internationally famous drummer Tullio De Piscopo. The concert will be backed by a local marching band The Malta Music Chamber, composed of fi fteen members, and led by Maestro Silvan Abdilla. Dancers from YADA Dance Academy led by Felix Busuttil, will be raising the curtain for this spectacular concert. The Organiser for this annual music, arts and cultural event, Mr Martin Vella has told us that it was a huge challenge to bring over such great talent to Malta, and despite requesting eligibility for funding, request after request was turned down by the authorities concerned. "We had to be able to overcome many sacrifi ces, hardships and obstacles in order to bring over Sig Minelli and his Orchestra to Malta, despite the fact that we were eligible for funding. We were denied a level playing ground while others have been given funding many times over. We had also been advised not to do such concerts! Instead, we have pulled all our resources, invested heavily on purchasing our own instruments, PA/sound system, mixers and other concert equipment, and also pulled the same rope together in order to set-up such a massive concert, where our distinguished guests are seated, treated with a fi ve-star banquet, free flowing wine, red carpet Prosecco and capricci welcome, and entertained with the best talent possibly available in the lyric-opera and contemporary music scene in the world today, bringing home a unique and unprecedented performance to all the Maltese public who have music at heart," told us Mr Vella. Mr Vella revealed that discussions are also under way to bring one of the world's best dance performing DJs to perform alongside Sig. Minnelli, and this can only be confi rmed once agreements are signed and date confi rmed. "If this goes through, then Malta will be experiencing the fi rst ever performance by the world's No.1 DJ!" revealed Mr Vella. "Both Luca and myself cannot wait to host and welcome our audience from Malta and beyond for a truly spectacular evening show, complete with a repertoire spanning classical masterpieces and favourite hit songs," Martin Vella said. The concert is being also supported by V&C Group, and Professional Survey Services. Dynamic Events Ltd's Managing Partner, Margaret Brincat said: "We have established this annual calendar event last year and it is here to stay! We are highly successful in providing the services of the highly-acclaimed tenor Luca Minnelli, who has sung in over 200 countries over the past 30 years, appeared on RAI TV channels no less than four times in the past two months, debuted his album with Brian May of Queen and Broadway musical legend, Kerry Ellis, sang alongside superstar Lady Gaga, joined Deep Purple in Bologna during their recent concert, sang at La Scala – Milan, New York, Paris, Moscow and other high profi le venues. Last year we had over 400 registered foreigners attending the show!" enthused Ms Brincat.
