maltatoday | SUNDAY • 12 NOVEMBER 2023 4 ART 'Possible Worlds' now open at Spazju K reattiv THE multidisciplinary exhi- bition, "Possible Worlds," is a remarkable collaborative pro- ject together with Arts Coun- cil Malta, that sets it apart from the rest. Hosted at Spazju Kreattiv, Malta's National Cen- tre for Creativity in Valletta, this exhibition is open to the public from the 4th of Novem- ber 2023 to the 10th of Decem- ber 2023. It features multi-media art- works by notable artists, name- ly Mario Abela, Ġulja Hol- land, Shezad Dawood, Helen Zughaib, Lara Baladi, Toon- tuloon, Pierre Portelli, No- ra Byrne, and Juliana España Keller. Alongside the exhibi- tion, several related workshops are offered, making "Possible Worlds" a comprehensive edu- cational experience that engag- es all age groups. The exhibition itself, curated by Nikki Petroni Education and Development Executive at Arts Council Malta, delves into the pressing environmental con- cerns resulting from urban ex- pansion and the consequential impact on the natural and so- cial environment. It provides a platform for both Maltese and international artists to present their perspectives through a rich array of artworks. Visitors have the opportunity to reflect on the intricate relationship between human society and the environment and explore alter- native possibilities for a more sustainable and harmonious future. The diversity in the artistic expression, commissioned by Spazju Kreattiv, in collabo- ration with ŻiguŻajg Festival and Arts Council Malta, along with partners Valletta Design Cluster and the Valletta Cul- tural Agency, underscores the exhibition's broader mission to promote awareness and foster dialogue on environmental is- sues. "Possible Worlds" is not just any art exhibition; it's a dy- namic and educational expe- rience that inspires a sense of purpose in our collective jour- ney towards a more balanced and responsible coexistence with the Earth. Daniel Azzopardi, Artistic Director of Spazju Kreattiv, shared his perspective saying that "the project is fundamen- tally geared towards enhancing accessibility to the creative arts for children and young individ- uals. This goal is accomplished through the exploration of highly pertinent subjects and the active involvement of the audience in both the develop- ment and creation of the exhi- bition."
