maltatoday | SUNDAY • 7 JANUARY 2023 8 COMMERCIAL Nestlé Malta completes another key milestone with the fourth edition of its Clothes Collection Drive GIVING is not just about mak- ing a donation it is about mak- ing a difference and once more, the fourth edition of Nestlé's Clothes Collection Drive had a noteworthy input to fill one's heart with happiness during the festive season. Unlike the previ- ous years, this time the Clothes Collection Drive targeted exclu- sively men's clothes, as per the wishes of the partner NGOs, and the response from the gen- eral public was simply incred- ible. Nestlé Malta coordinated this benevolent initiative, as part of their strategy to promote cor- porate social responsibility and giving back to the communi- ty. The charity drive started on Monday, 13th November and in four weeks, Nestlé Malta man- aged to collect just under 250 boxes of men's clothes weigh- ing over 1,100kg, making this year's edition another huge suc- cess and exceeding expectations once again. The men's clothes, collected during this year's edition, have been donated to NGO part- ners Inspire and MSPCA, both of which have charity shops around Malta, helping those less fortunate. As in previous years, Nestlé Malta will be also be donating food products to the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation, embodying their "Good Food, Good Life" mantra, to enhance quality of life and contribute to a healthier future. "We are privileged to have a platform with which to work with the public and NGO's to provide such fundamentals as food and clothes to those in need. On behalf of Nestlé Mal- ta, I wish to sincerely thank all those who made this year's edi- tion of the Nestlé Clothes Col- lection Drive successful," said Anita Olton, Corporate Com- munications Manager at Nestlé Malta. Undoubtedly, the result at- tained this year, will continue to inspire Nestlé Malta to keep up with its positive track record of CSR initiatives. "We foresee a fu- ture where every action we take today leaves an enduring posi- tive impact on tomorrow. Our CSR initiatives reaffirm Nestlé Malta's commitment to create a world that is more equitable, sustainable, and compassionate, added Ms. Olton. Celebrating sport SPORTMALTA the Govern- ment entity for sport and phys- ical activity is celebrating ten years from its transformation from the then Kunsill Malti għall-Isport. For this mem- orable year and to celebrate the achievements of the entity throughout these years several activities will be organised for its associated sport organiza- tions. Celebrating Sport in Malta Conference 2024 will open these activities on the 12th and the 13th of January at Radisson Blu Resort and Spa Golden Sands. The two-day conference will target different stakeholders and will have high level local and in- ternational speakers. The first session will be held on Friday morning, and it will focus on the role of the physical education teacher, coaches, and prospective teachers and their relationship with student ath- letes. The second session on Fri- day afternoon will have parents of student athletes as their target audience. The challenges, the stress, time management and many other related topics will be discussed. The third and final session on a Saturday morning will be directly related to Sport Organisations. Topics relat- ed with creating open spaces in their premises, the European Week of Sport and the sustaina- bility of events will be discussed. The high-level panel of speak- ers include local and interna- tional personalities. These in- clude Barbara Brennan an Irish mental well-being advocate, Greg Woods and Jason Lew- is from World Rugby, Olivier Gudet from UEFA and Cana- dian Architect James Thoem from top architectural firm Ge- hl Associate based in Denmark. During the sessions all chaired by experienced sport journal- ist and Director of Marketing, Communications and Alum- ni at the University of Malta Pierre Cassar, there will also be a number of panel discussions with the participation of Direc- tor General at the Ministry of Education Ritienne Borg Saliba, Luciano Busuttil CEO AIMS, senior lecturer at MCAST Ren- zo Kerr Cumbo, the Dean of Faculty of Social Well-Being Andrew Azzopardi, GSSE 2023 gold medallist Janet Richards, the Malta Handball President Daniel Tabone, Rose Marie Mercieca national coordinator of the European Week of Sport and producer of this conference, Malta Employees Sport Associ- ation Mark Marlow and Marko Glumac who is the technical Di- rector of Know How Soccer. The conference will be opened by the Minister for Education and Sport Clifton Grima who during the last session together with SportMalta Chairperson Omar Farrugia will distribute over €3 million as assistance to sport organisations.
