maltatoday | SUNDAY • 28 APRIL 2024 7 COMMERCIAL Mekanika launches ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles GASAN Group's engineer- ing arm, Mekanika Ltd. has launched Ultra-Fast charging stations for electric vehicles in the Central Business District. This charging station is a first for Malta and testimony to the Group's commitment to sup- porting the local shift to clean- er vehicles. During the event, Mr. Mark Gasan, CEO of Gasan Group, explained that the Group felt compelled to support the lo- cal infrastructure with top-end technology that guarantees the fastest and safest charging op- tion for owners of EVs. "The electrification wave of the automotive market is in full swing with more than 7,500 Electric Vehicles already on the Maltese roads and GasanZam- mit Motors is a leading part of this change" explained Mr Ga- san. In collaboration with lead- ing mobility provider Bolt, BYD introduced the BYD E6 model, to the Maltese market through GasanZammit Motors. This new fully electric model, will be dedicated solely to ride-hailing operators. The E6, specifically designed for the requirements of the ride-hailing industry, has achieved a demonstrated success in China with over 36,000 units exclusively using this model, with a range of over 400KM, it is equipped with BYDs class-lead- ing battery technology and over 580 Liters of trunk capacity and is being introduced at a very at- tractive package to support the ride-hailing industry's needed shift to electrification. Buyers opting for this vehicle will also benefit from Eur1,000 worth of credit on charge from the newly launched BYD ultra-fast charg- ing stations and substantial dis- counts on Bolt fees. Atlas Insurance presents 'Centennial Chronicles: Celebrating Malta's Commercial Legacy' ATLAS Insurance's exhibition is marking the hundred years of its legacy. "Centennial Chronicles: Celebrating Malta's Commer- cial Legacy," is currently under- way at The Malta Chamber in Valletta. This unique exhibition, open until May 28th, is not just a celebration of Atlas' 100-year journey but a comprehensive tribute to the vibrant commer- cial history of Malta. The exhibition offers visitors a journey through Malta's eco- nomic development, cultural history, and political dynamics, which are deeply intertwined with the narrative of Atlas In- surance. From pre-20th century insurance documents to a recon- structed 1920s-1930s office, the exhibition showcases the evolu- tion of the insurance industry in parallel with the country's social and economic evolution, as it adapted to reflect the shifting needs and risks of each period. Curated by Justine Balzan De- majo, with archiving and re- search conducted by Nikolai Debono, the exhibition is open from Monday to Friday until the 28 May between 8am and 4.30pm. There will be daily cu- ratorial tours on a drop-in basis at lunchtime from 22 April. Lectures by Liam Gauci, Dr Philip Farrugia Randon and Dr Mario Brincat will also be held, shedding light on various as- pects of commercial history, from corsairing to memories of Valletta in the mid-twentieth century, to economic history be- tween 1945-1959.
