NEWS 14 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 8 MAY 2024 IN a whirlwind of passion and dedica- tion, last January marked a pivotal mo- ment in Amber's life. With the joy of new motherhood still fresh, she found herself right back in the spotlight, grac- ing the judge's panel for the live showx of X Factor Malta. Yet, amidst the glitz and glam and the tension of the finale, she unveiled a deeply personal creation alongside her trusted collaborator, Elton Zarb: 'Għanja lil Guzi,' a tender lullaby straight from the heart. Her performance was nothing short of magical, leaving an indelible mark on all who witnessed it. Soon after, the song resonated far beyond the confines of the stage, becoming a cherished anthem for parents across social media platforms. Now, Amber has unveiled the official music video for 'Għanja lil Ġużi.' The re- sponse? Nothing short of spectacular. In a mere 24 hours, the video soared past 5,000 views, claiming its rightful place as the #1 trending music video on YouTube. Crafted by the team at tribe. with Ol- wyn Jo as artistic director, the the music video is a story being told by visuals. Set against the backdrop of Amber's heart- felt lyrics, it features a number of real-life parents and their precious children, each frame brimming with raw emotion. And if you look closely, you might just catch a glimpse of some familiar faces and even Ġużi himself which adds an extra layer of connection to this deeply moving narrative. In this mesmerizing union of music and visuals, 'Għanja lil Guzi' transcends its status as a mere lullaby, emerging as a timeless ode to the joys and challenges of parenthood. Music video of Amber's 'Ghanja lil Guzi' gets 5,000 views in 24 hours THE walking organisations Ramblers' Association of Mal- ta, Leisure Ventures, Trek- king Malta, Trail Makers, Xir Cammini, and the Malta Ge- ographical society wish to an- nounce that they have reached an agreement to organise themselves into a federation of walking organisations. These past few years walking in the countryside has explod- ed in popularity amongst the people of Malta and Gozo, but obstacles to access the coun- tryside have also multiplied in number. The organisations, which count thousands of walkers amongst them, will be making use of this federation to pro- ject the status, rights and obli- gations of walkers. The goals of the federation include changes to planning and legal regulations to ensure that these better take the inter- ests of walkers into account. In particular the federation will work to ensure the right of walkers to transit across path- ways which have been in regu- lar use for substantial amounts of time. The federation will also aim to establish new rights of tran- sit in order to ensure that Mal- tese and Gozitan citizens have adequate access to nature and that the countryside does not become the private and exclu- sive domain of a privileged few. From its end, the federation will bind all of its current and future members to adopt a common Green Country Code to ensure that the activities of its members have a minimal environmental impact and which promotes respect to- wards other countryside users. The federation said it also wishes to recognise the current work being done to improve infrastructure for walkers in the country and is ready to support these ongoing initia- tives. It is also calling on prospec- tive MEP candidates to sup- port a European 'Access to Nature Law' which has been demanded by ramblers' organ- isations all across Europe for the past few years. In order to celebrate this sol- idarity between walking organ- isations, the federation has or- ganised a 3 hour joint cultural walk to the Three Cities which was open to all of their mem- bers and the walking public in general. The walk concluded with a visit to Birgu's St. Lawrence chapel, with the parish provid- ing a guided tour to the gems within, including La Vallette's battle sword.
