CONTINUING its steady growth trajectory, BDO Mal- ta also celebrates in the Report its remarkable achievements recorded throughout the year, most notably solidifying its position as the fifth largest au- dit and advisory firm in Malta, based on fee income. In 2023, the firm recorded an increase in fee income of 12% compared to the previous year, reflecting clients' trust in its ser- vices and ability to provide value – even amid the challenges of a dynamic global business land- scape. Meanwhile, the year saw BDO Malta continue its dedication to the highest audit quality stand- ards, introducing an annual Audit Quality report along- side the Transparency Report, as well as launching an Audit Quality Award to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its expert audit teams. Throughout the reporting pe- riod, the BDO Malta team en- sured the brand's presence at several high-profile internation- al events as both exhibitors and visitors, including ICE London 2023, the Malta Stock Exchange Governance, Risk and Compli- ance Summit 2023 and at the eighth edition of SiGMA Mal- ta, among others. Hospice Malta launches 'L-Aħħar Pass' fundraising telethon to complete St Michael Hospice Complex HOSPICE Malta, the local NGO dedicated to providing free palli- ative care services to patients and their families, is announcing the launch of its annual fundraising telethon, 'L-Aħħar Pass'. Sched- uled for Sunday, 7th July 2024, from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, this year's telethon aims to rally pub- lic support to complete the final stages of the St Michael Hospice complex, with the inauguration in September 2024. The 'L-Aħħar Pass' telethon will be broadcast live for 12 hours di- rectly from St Michael Hospice in Santa Venera. Viewers can tune in to local television stations to ex- perience touching stories and in- terviews showcasing the impact of Hospice Malta's services and the importance of completing the St Michael Hospice project. St Michael Hospice, Malta's first palliative care complex, represents a transformative milestone in Hospice Malta's 34-year commit- ment to holistic care. The com- plex will offer crucial in-patient facilities and expanded services, ensuring comprehensive support for patients and their families fac- ing life-limiting illnesses. Ms. Bernadette Bonnici Kind, Chairperson of Hospice Malta, expressed gratitude and empha- sised the significance of complet- ing St Michael Hospice, urging benefactors, the business commu- nity and the public to contribute generously towards this project of national importance. Kenneth Delia, CEO of Hospice Malta, emphasised that the St Michael Hospice project is near- ing its final stages of completion. With this infrastructure in place, Hospice will be well-equipped to efficiently accommodate its current services while also offer- ing the potential for expansion through its services in the com- munity, day services as well as in-patient services.
