maltatoday | SUNDAY • 16 JUNE 2024 7 COMMERCIAL MCAST reinforcing security on campus THE Malta College of Arts, Sci- ence, and Technology (MCAST) has started a new initiative aimed at reinforcing safety and security measures within the College. In its continuous efforts to pri- oritize the well-being of all em- ployees and students, MCAST has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Malta Police Force for police presence on campus. The service shall consist of po- lice officers in uniform who shall patrol an MCAST campus for a number of hours every week. The service shall alternate be- tween the Paola, Qormi, and Mosta sites. The service shall be provided during the last months of this academic year, and then re-commence as from October 2024. The officers shall carry out searches on students and/ or their belongings if they have a reasonable suspicion that the search will discover the posses- sion of items that are prohibited, stolen, or acquired as the result of any offence whatsoever. In this regard, the Directors of each In- stitute shall ensure the provision of an enclosed and private area within their Institute should the officers require its use for con- ducting a search whilst at their Institute. The presence of police of- ficers on-site will serve to en- hance safety on campus for the students and the MCAST staff community. MCAST believes that this proactive approach will significantly contribute to the prevention of any unpleasant in- cidents and ensure peace of mind for all employees and students. Additionally, it demonstrates its dedication to maintaining a sup- portive and secure environment. Frank Salt Real Estate team enjoys an artsy fun-filled team building afternoon FRANK Salt Real Estate re- cently held an imaginative team-building event that took team members on a nostal- gic journey inspired by classic Disney favourites and popular West End and Broadway mu- sicals. The event, designed to foster creativity and collabora- tion, provided an opportunity for team members to showcase their acting, musical, and artis- tic talents. Prior to the event, each branch was assigned a West End musi- cal to recreate. They crafted unique scripts and produced videos featuring acting, singing, and dancing. Although partic- ipants had to step out of their comfort zones, the results were worth it. The stellar productions premiered at the team-building event and were judged by the whole team. Director Grahame Salt remarked, "Many budding actors, singers, and dancers emerged from within our team, showcasing their talents beyond property transactions!" Other activities included cake decorating, sculpture making as well as a sip-and-paint contest – all based around beloved Dis- ney movies. Teams had to deco- rate cakes using sugar paste and other materials, crafted statu- ettes with clay and paints, and painted canvases featuring their preferred characters or scenes. After completing the activ- ities, team members enjoyed a delicious BBQ and refresh- ments. The event culminated in a showcase of the branch-pro- duced videos, where each staff member voted for their favour- ite. The Sliema Letting Team's rendition of Magic Mike won the musical video challenge, whilst in the artistic challenges, the Frozen and Finding Nemo teams tied for first place. HR Manager Mandy Zaffarese highlighted the event's purpose: "Our aim is to engage colleagues through social events, fostering teamwork and stronger rela- tionships. This time, we focused on visual and performing arts, perfectly capturing the compa- ny's motto: work hard but play harder." Managing Director Jean Chapelle Paleologo added, "Our team-building events are designed to bring us together in a relaxed environment to im- prove team spirit, communica- tion, and collaboration."
