THE Government Budget for 2025, de- livered this week, targets projects ranging from infrastructure and education to social services and cultural initiatives, with the aim of transforming Gozo into a stronger, more accessible, and culturally enriched island, the minister for Gozo told GozoTo- day. Clint Camilleri said that the government has allocated a record-breaking budget of €93 million to Gozo, representing the larg- est budget allocation in the island's history. "This new budget sees a near €9 million increase—or 10%—over the previous year and a remarkable 180% increase over the last budget allocated by a Nationalist gov- ernment, which provided only €33 million for Gozo," he said. In contrast, Alex Borg, opposition spokes- man for Gozo, said the Budget was proof that Gozo is still not a priority for this Gov- ernment.. The NGO said it also recovered a young black stork with severe leg injuries from a reservoir near the Prime Minister's official summer residence in Girgenti, after it was illegally shot by nearby hunters. The bird, part of a small flock that was first seen over Gozo, was illegally targeted.
