GOZO should be designated as an area of
special importance in terms of aesthetics
and architectural design, with an ad-hoc
Design Advisory Committee for the en-
tire Island, the Gozo Regional Develop-
ment Authority (GRDA) has proposed
This committee would serve as a dedi-
cated body responsible for making recom-
mendations with respect to development
applications in Gozo, providing profes-
sional and expert advice to the Planning
Board in relation to aesthetics and façade
design in development applications in
Gozo.
This recommendation was put forward
in the GRDA's official Policy Position on
the subject of aesthetics and architectural
design of the island's urban fabric.

PN spokesman for Gozo Alex Borg insists
Gozo minister Clint Camilleri' position
has become untenable after agreeing to
employ Tourism minister Clayton Barto-
lo's partner within his ministry.
In an interview with GozoToday, Borg
insists that when public trust is under-
mined, resignation is not only appropriate
— it is necessary to restore confidence in
the office and ensure accountability
He also says the PN has reflected on its
past and is determined to regain the trust
of the people of Gozo by focusing on trans-
parency, fairness, and vision.
"We paid that political price dearly and
we have learnt many lessons," he says.
The Gozo Regional Development Authority is calling for the setting up of an
ad-hoc committee responsible for making recommendations with respect to
development applications in Gozo, and for local plans to protect terraced houses
in government housing estates
