The site covers a whopping 45,000sq.m at Ħal Farruġ in the outskirts of Luqa and Siġġiewi. It is owned by the Polidano Group. The recommendation for approval was made by the Planning Authority's De- velopment and Manage- ment Directorate. A final decision on the fate of Mal- ta's largest ever illegal ODZ develop- ment—which has come to symbolise the impunity of developers in Malta— will be taken by the Planning Board on Thursday 10 July. CONTINUES ON PAGE 5 No fines for Qui-Si-Sana sea water contamination Polluters pardoned once again A Sliema establishment that contaminated the swimming area at Qui-Si-Sana is the lat- est private premises to pollute a public area and face no form of enforcement. On 18 June, the Environmen- tal Health Directorate (EHD) issued a warning after foul wa- ter was found percolating into the sea, posing a potential risk to swimmers' health.
