8 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 2 JULY 2025 CULTURE Maltese artist Fabio Borg joins Konsum 163 Art Gallery in Munich CONTEMPORARY artist Fabio Borg will take part in a group exhibition in Munich, Germany, alongside three fel- low Italian artists. Recently, Borg was offered a contract by Konsum 163 Art Gallery, making him one of the gallery's newly represented artists. This marks a significant milestone in his expanding international career. "This is a unique opportunity, and I'm incredibly grateful to be part of Kon- sum 163's artistic vision," says Borg. "It means a lot to see my expression res- onate with galleries outside my home country." This is the second gallery representa- tion for Borg, who is also represented by a prominent gallery in Rome, Italy. Rooted in abstract expressionism, Borg's work is deeply personal and emotionally charged. "I strive to be as genuine and honest as possible, draw- ing from my inner world. Each piece is a direct reflection of my state of mind in a specific moment—a visual snapshot of emotions that are often fleeting and intense." His paintings are marked by bold, dy- namic lines that verge on chaos, captur- ing the fast pace and tension of modern life. These expressive gestures are often softened by pastel-toned backgrounds, creating a visual balance between chaos and calm, anxiety and serenity. This in- terplay lies at the heart of Borg's artistic practice and reflects the emotional con- tradictions of contemporary existence. The exhibition at Konsum 163 Art Gallery will run from July 31st to August 28th, 2025. It offers Munich audiences a compelling opportunity to experience the raw emotional power and spontane- ous beauty of Borg's work—presented in dialogue with other contemporary Italian voices.
