Owned by Walid Ouhida, the company rakes in millions of euros from its operations but its rapid growth over the past five years has raised eyebrows. Earlier this year, Transport Malta suspended WT Global's operating licence but the case ended up in court and is ongo- ing. But a deep dive into the doc- uments submitted in court and the witness statements, shows that the company had been left to operate for years despite having provided addresses for its garaging facilities that were fraudulent. All the while, the company continued to grow and accord- ing to the information it sub- mitted in court, was earning an average of €43,000 per day. The reforms parliamentary secretary said that Labour MPs had endorsed a manifes- to that mentioned euthanasia when contesting the election but insisted she personally believed this was a matter of conscience. "It will be the Whip's deci- sion, but I personally believe that in such situations MPs should have a clear con- science and be granted the liberty to vote in line with their conscience," she said in an interview with MaltaTo- day being published today. A MaltaToday survey had shown an overwhelming ma- jority of people believe MPs should be allowed a free vote. Buttigieg said no govern- ment MP has voiced disa- greement with euthanasia but the parliamentary group discussion has centred more around the parameters of the proposal. But the parliamentary sec- retary insisted the govern- ment was nowhere near to tabling a bill in parliament. She said the feedback from the public consultation will be analysed in depth before a bill is drafted.
