maltatoday | SUNDAY • 21 SEPTEMBER 2025 Servizz.gov: More hours, less hassle SERVIZZ.GOV has announced a major step forward in customer service, with all 25 hubs now opening daily from Monday to Saturday and operating on extended hours. This development translates into more than 450 addi- tional service hours every month, giv- ing citizens unprecedented access to government services closer to home. The change means customers no longer need to worry about limited opening times or rushing to meet closing hours. Whether it is applying for documents, seeking guidance on government schemes, or accessing so- cial security services, people will find doors open for longer throughout the week. In fact, all the regional hubs will now open from 9.30am till 2pm through- out the week, and between 8am and 12pm on Saturday. In addition to this, each hub will also open till 6pm once a week. This step reflects the agency's commitment to place people at the heart of its operations, ensuring essen- tial services are brought even closer to local communities and made more convenient than ever before. Parents, shift workers, and professionals with tight schedules will particularly bene- fit from the added flexibility. The extra 450 hours each month mean more chances for citizens to ac- cess support, resolve problems, and use essential services. More hours, more service, less hassle for adminis- trative errands. The move is part of Servizz.gov's broader strategy to ensure accessibil- ity and inclusivity in the delivery of government services. Alongside digi- tal platforms that continue to grow in popularity - most notably the Servizz. gov.mt web portal - the physical pres- ence of regional centres remains es- sential for those who prefer in-person interaction or require assistance be- yond what online tools can provide. In 2024, more than 332,000 people visited the 25 Servizz.gov hubs spread across multiple localities. Timing is key. As families settle back into their routines and students gear up for the new academic year, de- mand for services such as stipends, grants, and other essential support naturally rises. The extended hours are also expected to ease traffic pressure, as fewer people will need to travel at peak times — part of a wider govern- ment effort to reduce cars on the road. This makes the extension of opening hours particularly timely. At the same time, Servizz.gov has continued to expand its role, marking steady growth in recent months. Since June, the regional hubs have taken on the collection of new identity cards, while both Enemalta and Animal Wel- fare have integrated the Servizz.gov 153 freephone into their operations — a clear sign of the agency's grow- ing reach and trust across different sectors. Ultimately, the extended opening hours reinforce Servizz.gov's role as the bridge between citizens and gov- ernment. With centres open longer and across every region, people are better served, time pressures are eased, and customer care is placed at the forefront. Servizz.gov has extended opening hours across all 25 regional hubs, now operating Monday to Saturday with over 450 extra service hours monthly THIS IS A PAID COLLABORATION
