This experience forms part of Hospice Malta's ongoing investment in staff de- velopment and its commitment to continually elevate the qual- ity of palliative services offered within the community. Community Nurse Alison Ellul and Psychotherapist Carly Cian- tar, together with Complemen- tary erapist Stephanie Zahra and Social Worker Gillian Bar- bara, spent time observing and engaging with Galway Hospice's multidisciplinary team. eir programme provided valuable exposure to various care settings, including inpatient, day care and community-based services, while allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of collaborative approaches to ho- listic patient support. e placements also offered participants the opportunity to exchange best practices and strengthen professional ties with international colleagues. Insights gained from these ex- periences will contribute to the ongoing development of Hos- pice Malta's clinical and support services at St Michael Hospice in St Venera. Chief Clinical Officer Anna Frendo explained, "Each inter- national placement represents an important learning opportu- nity for our team. By observing how other hos- pices operate, our staff can bring back new ideas, perspectives and methods that can further strengthen our approach to pa- tient and family care. is is part of our wider goal to ensure that Hospice Malta remains at the forefront of palliative care deliv- ery." ese latest placements follow other successful job shadowing initiatives carried out by mem- bers of the Hospice Malta team in recent months. Established in 1966 as the holding company of the Corin- thia Group, CPHCL has built a diversified portfolio spanning the property, services, and hos- pitality industries. The bonds, guaranteed by CPHCL Compa- ny Limited, will mature in 2035. The company's wide-ranging interests in Malta and overseas include a 58% stake in Interna- tional Hotel Investments (IHI – the owner of the Corinthia brand), 50% in Mediterranean Investments Holding (MIH) which is the owner of Palm City residences in Libya, 65% in Danish Bakery, 25% in the Mal- ta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC), Palace Landscaping 100%, Palace Concierge 100% and Palazzo Leone 100%. Over the years, CPHCL has also acquired full ownership of Swan Laundry and Dry Clean- ing Limited, and Quality Talent Ltd (RQT), along with prop- erties in Malta, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Budapest, Lib- ya, and Tunis. CPHCL is also a 50% partner in a JV with Attard Brothers, with the purpose of developing and selling residen- tial and commercial properties. At a consolidated level, CPH- CL Group is forecasting reve- nues of €386.7 million for 2025. The group's net assets are fore- casted to amount to just over €1 billion by the end of 2025. Jean-Pierre Schembri, CEO of CPHCL, said: "Our primary focus will be on continuing the growth of our businesses, expanding our in- dustrial ventures, optimising the use of our property portfolio both locally and internationally, and branching out into new sec- tors as part of a diversification exercise to ensure long-term sustainability of the Group. THE Malta Photographic Socie- ty (MPS) proudly announces its 60th Annual National Exhibition of Photography, showing at the Malta Society of Arts in Valletta from 27 November until 19 De- cember 2025. Celebrated as the longest-running and largest na- tional photographic exhibition in Malta, this landmark event has become a cornerstone of the local cultural calendar. Over six decades, the exhibi- tion has evolved into the flagship gathering for professional and enthusiast photographers, while increasingly drawing interna- tional entrants and numerous visiting audiences. This mile- stone edition marks sixty years of photographic excellence, creative exploration and cultural engage- ment with the local photography community. Since its inception, the MPS Annual National Exhibition has also offered a vital platform for photographers to present their work, exchange ideas and con- nect with the public. Each suc- cessive edition has grown in visibility, ambition and artistic diversity, with submissions and public interest continuing to in- crease year after year. For this 60th edition, the MPS is thrilled to have received a total of 836 images for consideration. From these, 89 selected prints by 39 photographers will be ex- hibited as mounted and framed works, while 151 digital images by 50 photographers will be pre- sented in a curated on-screen showcase. Highlighting the importance of this anniversary, Vince Piscopo, Honorary Secretary of the Mal- ta Photographic Society, states: "Reaching the 60th edition is both an honour and a testament to the dedication of our mem- bers, volunteers and the wider photographic community. This year's exhibition aligns perfectly with the vision for the arts to be at the heart of Malta's future, en- suring that everyone has access to artistic and cultural activity, and presenting a diverse range of photographic works that show- case artistic excellence while supporting different modes of expression. By staging this na- tional photographic exhibition, which is open to professionals, enthusiasts, locals and visitors alike, we actively contribute to broadening access to the visual arts, fostering creative partici- pation, nurturing photographic excellence and enriching Malta's cultural offering." This 60th edition highlights the strength and diversity of Malta's photographic community, while reaffirming the MPS and MSA's commitment to making the visual arts accessible to all.
