BETWEEN October and December, a total of 11,829 trips were recorded, carrying 1,839,008 passengers, accord- ing to data released by the Na- tional Statistics Office (NSO). December was the busiest month for overall trips, with 4,029 crossings, accounting for 34.1% of the quarterly total. Sea transport between Mal- ta and Gozo increased across all major measures during the fourth quarter of 2025 when compared with the same pe- riod in 2024, according to the NSO. Increases were regis- tered in trips, passenger move- ments and vehicle crossings. Mgarr–Cirkewwa Route Passenger traffic between Mġarr and Ċirkewwa totalled 1,526,411 during the quarter, an increase of 8.5% over the corresponding quarter a year earlier. October recorded the highest passenger volume on this route, with 573,413 pas- sengers, or 37.6% of the quar- terly total. Vehicle crossings between Mġarr and Ċirkewwa reached 529,930, up 4.5% year-on-year.
