2 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 1 MARCH 2026 MUSIC OutBound's brand new single - A narration of an intimate confession OUTBOUND is a local Mal- tese Pop-Rock band founded in 2022 consisting of Catherine Gatt on Vocals, Steve Galea on Guitars, Matthew Drago on Bass and Louie Farrugia on Drums. The Pop-Rock band has just released a brand new track where they explore the gen- res of acoustic rock and folk in order to narrate a story on the exploration of the quiet suffer- ing of individuals who decide to often hide behind their mask. The band commented that they decided to take an acoustic ap- proach in order to evoke a feel- ing of openness and vulnerabil- ity with the listeners and to get them to relate as much as they could with the song. To add on to the feeling of stillness, loneliness and heart- break - the band decided to go onto a creative project by di- recting a music video alongside Edward DeGabriele & Fabian Attard, where the storyline de- picts the preparation for a bur- ial. During this burial, the band buries their "secrets" and moves on to finish off the video via a 'liberating' band performance from the song's climax until the end of the song. The entire shoot was done in B&W to de- pict a sorrowful & melancholic ambience and to make the view- ers feel more in touch with the band members' heartbreaking story. This song was produced with Chris Gatt & Edward Abe- la (Midnight) and Mixed and Mastered with Edward Abela (Midnight). The song & mu- sic video will be released on all music streaming platforms and more content in relation to the music video can be found on their social media website. More information on the band and single can be found on https://outbound.band. Mychael Bartolo Chircop releases the official music video for My Sweet Angel MYCHAEL Bartolo Chircop has released the official music video for My Sweet Angel, the track that marked his debut at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, where it placed third overall and established him as one of the competition's stand- out new artists. Since its re- lease, the song has continued to gain strong traction across digital platforms, resonating with audiences both locally and across Europe. Expanding on the visual world introduced during the Malta Eurovision Song Con- test, the music video delivers a cinematic interpretation of the song's emotional intensity, combining contemporary cho- reography with stylised visual storytelling. Mychael is joined by dancers, each bringing ex- tensive international experi- ence to the production. Creative Director Steven Levi Vella, an international- ly recognised creative whose work spans visual direction, branding and performance-led storytelling within contempo- rary music and entertainment, played a defining role in shap- ing the cinematic language and overall visual identity of the production. Working across concept development, visual structure and on-set execution, Levi Vella helped craft a cohe- sive and striking visual narra- tive for the release. Choreography was led by Dance Captain Samantha Jayne, whose professional credits include serving as as- sistant choreographer for Dua Lipa, with Benjamin Anthony assisting on this production. With this release, My Sweet Angel further defines Mychael Bartolo Chircop's artistic di- rection, combining vocal pre- cision, contemporary chore- ography and cinematic visuals as he continues to expand his presence beyond Malta.
