Animal advocate from Gozo presented
with Compassion for Animals Award
LYNN Abela, a full-time staff
member at Animal Welfare
Gozo, was presented with
the Compassion for Animals
Award at the annual Premju
MARA ceremony. The event,
organised by Lydia Abela, wife
of the Prime Minister, rec-
ognises the contributions of
women to the Maltese commu-
nity.
In addition to her full-time
role, Lynn volunteers at Gozo
SPCA, where she oversees an-
imal care and conducts edu-
cational visits to local schools,
promoting awareness and re-
sponsibility toward animals
among younger generations.
Her dedication has been cred-
ited for the high standard of
care provided to stray animals
in Gozo, often cited as exceed-
ing that available in other parts
of Malta. "The recognition
highlights not only Lynn's per-
sonal contribution but also the
broader role of organisations
like Animal Welfare Gozo and
Gozo SPCA in our society," or-
ganisers said.
The Premju MARA awards
continue to celebrate women
making significant social, cul-
tural, and humanitarian con-
tributions across Malta.
