11 gozotoday | FRIDAY • 17 JULY 2026 CULTURE Rockin Xpress to stage two fundraising concerts in aid of Happy Parenting AUSTRALIAN-BASED Mal- tese band Rockin Xpress will return to Malta this month for two fundraising concerts in support of Happy Parent- ing – Malta, with all proceeds going towards therapy services for families facing difficult cir- cumstances. The concerts form part of Happy Parenting's efforts to raise awareness about the or- ganisation's free and low-cost therapy and support services for parents and children, while generating funds to help more families access professional support. The first concert will take place at Seaside Nightclub in Birżebbuġa on 23 July at 7:30pm, featuring guest singer Josuel Elvis. The second concert will be held at Villa Fiorita in Mar- salforn, Gozo, on 30 July at 7:30pm, with guest singer Marisa D'Amato. Transport will be provided from Mġarr Harbour to Villa Fiorita at 6:30pm, with a return service departing Villa Fiorita at mid- night. Bookings can be made by contacting Anthony on 99565730. Happy Parenting said the funds raised will be used to finance therapy sessions for parents experiencing chal- lenging situations, helping the organisation continue offer- ing essential support services to families across Malta and Gozo. The initiative is being sup- ported by Festivals Malta, Rockin Malta 26, Visit Malta, the Ministry for Social Policy and Children's Rights, and the Ministry for Gozo. New Gozo Travel Guide helps visitors explore the island through its filming history SCENE on Gozo launches Gozo in a Day: Film & TV Location Guide, a new independent trav- el guide helping visitors explore Gozo through the dozens of films and TV shows shot on the island. The 84-page full-colour guide, available as a PDF, eBook or pa- perback, turns Gozo's screen his- tory into a practical one-day route through three of the island's most recognisable areas: Victoria, Dwe- jra and Mġarr Harbour. It includes more than 80 locations from 40 productions, colour photos, an interactive map, practical route notes, suggested routes, along with visitor advice for travellers who want more than a rushed day trip and a few blurry photos. Scene on Gozo began after fans of popular British cozy crime series The Madame Blanc Mys- teries started travelling to Gozo to find the real locations behind the fictional Sainte Victoire and struggled to find accurate or use- ful information. The site has since grown into a wider Gozo travel and screen-tourism resource, cov- ering productions filmed on Gozo and Comino alongside practical guides to ferries, transport, villag- es, beaches, events and trip plan- ning. Gozo in a Day: Film & TV Location Guide features locations connected to The Madame Blanc Mysteries, Game of Thrones, Cor- onation Street, Żejtune, Treasure in Malta and 30-plus other pro- ductions filmed on or around Gozo. Kerry Gaffney, founder and edi- tor of Scene on Gozo, said: "Scene on Gozo started because fans of The Madame Blanc Mysteries were coming to Gozo and trying to find the real filming locations, but the information just wasn't availa- ble. I wanted to make the guide I wished existed: practical, accurate and useful on the ground, not just a list of pretty places, and without the phrase 'hidden gem' appearing once." The guide is designed for visitors staying on Gozo, travellers coming over from Malta for the day, film and TV location fans, and Madame Blanc viewers who want to connect what they have seen on screen with the real Gozo. Gaffney added: "Gozo's screen career is much more interesting and extensive than many realise, boasting a filming history that spans over 70 years. This guide is about helping people turn that into a proper day out, with enough prac- tical detail to make the island easier to explore and enough screen his- tory to make the places feel alive."
