THE local choir VOCA has launched a new music video, in- terpreting the song You Will Be Found, written by the songwrit- ing duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul as part of the renowned mu- sical Dear Evan Hansen. On the occasion of World Men- tal Health weekend, the choir hopes to spread the message that no one is truly alone, and that even in moments of deep isola- tion, despair, or darkness, help, hope, and connection are possi- ble. The music video, filmed and ed- ited by local videographer Cedric Vella, is a project that VOCA has been working on since March 2026, thanks to the financial sup- port it has received through the Small Initiatives Scheme, man- aged by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector on behalf of the Ministry for Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector. The song, sung by the almost 40 strong choir accompanied by its musicians, is directed by Nathalie Camilleri, with the musical ar- rangements for choir being taken care by VOCA's assistant direc- tor Lara Bonnici. Filmed at the Manoel Theatre as well as the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST), the video conveys the story of a student who faces iso- lation and who is ignored by her peers. However, she braves all obstacles and manages to come out of the shadows, finding sol- ace and connection. It is precisely this message that the Choir want- ed to spread through the music video, especially targeting youth. VOCA says it collaborated with the Richmond Foundation throughout the project. Further- more, the choir says the music video will be used as an impor- tant awareness-raising tool with local youth. "In addition, work- ing with the Malta Deaf People Association, the main message of the song is interpreted in sign language mid-day through the video, ensuring as much outreach possible."
