DISTRESSING emergency calls and accounts of Lassane Cisse lying motionless with his headphones still playing music dominated Tuesday's sitting in the murder trial of former soldier Lorin Scicluna. Jurors heard recordings of calls made following the shooting in Triq tal-Ġebel on 6 April 2019, which left Cisse dead and two other migrants, Mohammed Jallow and Ibra- him Bah, injured. In one recording, a distressed caller could be heard saying, "My friend was shot with a gun," with crying audible in the background. Other callers alerted emergency services to a man lying in the road. Police officers arriving at the scene encountered two in- jured men before finding Cis- se lying unresponsive further along the road, with blood flowing from his head. Emergency nurse Bran- don Busuttil recalled finding Cisse face down in a pool of blood, with music still play- ing through his headphones. Despite efforts to assess his condition, no cardiac activity was detected, and he was pro- nounced dead at the scene. After turning him over, med- ical equipment detected no cardiac activity, and Cisse was pronounced dead at the scene. The court also heard how Jallow had been found holding his private parts after being shot, while Bah was discov- ered further along the road with an injury to his behind. "Personal attacks will absolutely never form part of the PL's vocabulary," Abela insisted. "They aren't today, and they won't be tomorrow." His comments come after Gafà's recent attacks on Labour MEP Thomas Bajada and the Housing Authority CEO, as part of an ongoing campaign calling for the removal of a manager at the authority over his alleged Nationalist Party leanings.
