Birkirkara took the lead on the 10th minute when Terence Vella scored from the penalty spot. Ivan Carapic brought Terence Vella down inside the area to have referee Kevin Azzopardi point to the penalty spot. Birkirkara found the back of the net again on the 33rd minute. A shot from Paul Fenech was not saved by goalkeeper Jonathan Azzopardi to make the score 2-0.
