Marqués de Riscal has competed for the distinction of 'Best European Winery of the Year' with many wineries from all over Europe. The name of the winners will be published on a special issue of 'Wine Enthusiast' in December, prior to the awards ceremony to be held on January 27, 2014 in New York. Wine Enthusiast, founded twenty years ago and with about 500,000 readers, is considered one of the two "most influential wine magazines in the United States". Since 2001, the magazine recognises with the awards 'WINE STAR', the work of distinguished personalities from the world of wine in ten categories. Marqués de Riscal has always been a pioneer company that is a reference in the industry. In 1858 it became the first winemaker in La Rioja to make its wines using Bordeaux methods. In 1972 it became the first winemaker to promote the 'Rueda' appellation of origin – where the highly rated white wines are made – and in 1991 created Barón de Chirel, the first of the new era of Rioja wines (Barón de Chirel 1986). More recently, it officially opened 'Ciudad del Vino' (City of Wine) with a building designed by the architect Frank O. Gehry, which is the most avant-garde building to date Consumers should check LPG cylinder seals before use used by a Spanish wine maker. Marqués de Riscal markets its products in over 105 countries and its wines have been awarded the most acclaimed international prizes, and other awards and mentions in specialised press. Marqués de Riscal wines are imported, marketed and distributed in Malta by Farsons Beverage Imports Co Ltd (FBIC), a member of the Farsons Group. Liquigas offers to help its customers Xmas presents will be a breeze for Quaterno+ Jackpot winner Following its announcement that some LPG cylinders have been filled illegally, and in an unregulated way, at a third party site, Liquigas Malta is advising consumers to check LPG cylinder seals before use. Liquigas Malta genuine seals have an injection point on top, between the words 'Liquigas' and 'Malta' and a square profile rim. Liquigas is offering to replace any of its yellow and green cylinders, which are still unused and which have a fake seal. "As everyone can surely understand, this is not our responsibility and we are ourselves victims of fraud in this case; some of our own cylinders appear to have been filled by third parties before being placed on the market," explained Roberto Capelluto, Liquigas Malta Chief Executive Officer. "In any case, safety and service remain a Liquigas priority and we A €2 euro ticket bought on 22 November from a Maltco's Point of Sale in Valletta, brought luck to an only winner who won the Quaterno + Jackpot the next day. The Group considers the allocation of resources to special areas such as Paceville, Valletta, Bugibba and Mellieha on the basis of registered residents, as particularly absurd. The reality of the situation is that each of these areas sees a significant influx of non-residents, both on a seasonal and regular basis and as such requires a different formula for the allocation of resources. Government receives sizeable revenues in terms of license fees, taxes and VAT collected from businesses operating in these areas and this should therefore be reflected in the investment dedicated to their effective maintenance. The PEP recognises the contribution local businesses can provide in ensuring cleanliness and security. However, enforcement through local and national authorities is a key aspect in achieving this communal goal. Further to this, the recent naming of St Julian's as Malta's 'crime capital' must also be a wakeup call for the authorities. The PEP has for sometime been lobbying with government to address the situation in Paceville and the surrounding areas. While there appears to be the political will to address the situation, the reality is that any action seems to have stalled. The Group is of the opinion that there are three major areas that need to be addressed in this area: cleanliness and environmental protection (including noise pollution); safety and security; and traffic management. The PEP is calling upon the au- well as through the pooling of its human resources and expertise. In particular, the PEP has already offered to assist in the purchasing of CCTV cameras to be installed in the area. The PEP looks forward to developments on the part of Government to set in motion this much needed initiative. About the PEP thorities to commit to addressing the situation effectively and within agreed timeframes; to collaborate with the private sector and other stakeholders in order to address issues holistically and effectively; to re-examine the allocation of current resources and determine whether any changes are required; to act as liaison between national and local authorities to ensure coordination of initiatives; to review existing legislation and introduce amendments if required; and to ensure enforcement of legislation. On its part, the PEP has demonstrated its commitment towards contributing towards the achievement of these objectives by offering its contribution, both financially as The Paceville Environment Protection Group (PEP) is a recently formed informal group which has come together out of a common concern regarding the current state of affairs in the hamlet known as Paceville, in St. Julian's. The members of the group, namely FIMBank plc, the Eden Leisure Group, PenderVille Ltd and Tourist Services Ltd, operators of Aragon House, all operate businesses within Paceville and have collectively invested heavily in the area over the past five years.
