The initiative gives students the opportunity to showcase their art and to work with Banif who doubled up as a "client", in a simulation similar to the real world of work and industry. This is the second year that Banif is collaborating with MCAST on a live-case. The students, who are preparing for the National Higher Diploma in Fine Art, could present up to three works, using excerpts from contemporary Maltese lit- also included. Mark Farrugia, Product Manager at GO, said, "This Christmas, GO has launched a range of offers for all of its customers, including small and medium sized enterprises. Through the new Business Duo Pack bundle, our business customers can enjoy unrivalled telephony erature as themes and inspiration. Under the guidance of their tutors Sarah Mamo and Maxine Attard, the students worked hard on idea generation, concept drawings and preliminary sketches while the final output was presented to Banif during a formal, timed presentation. The students presented their work to a panel of judges who had a tough job selecting twelve that will feature in the Bank's perpetual agenda. They considered a number of criteria that included, but were not limited to, technical skill, originality and theme interpretation. The students were mostly given a free hand in sty- listic preferences and materials and they could use both traditional and non-traditional media. "It is crucial that our students are given opportunities to test their skills," said Stephen Vella, Director, MCAST Institute of Art and Design. "These live-cases give them a chance to produce work commissioned by clients, while working within the challenges of brand guidelines and specific client requirements. "Once again we are grateful to Banif Bank for giving our students the chance to do this. The exercise is a taster of what they will experience in the future." Christmas in Marsovin have reported that the newly released Grand Maitre vintage 2011 has been sold out just over a month after its market launch. This is partly due to the ever-increasing demand for this collectable prized wine coupled to unusual weather conditions which reduced the grape yield at Marsovin's, Ghajn Rihana Estate and home to Grand Maitre. A 2011 vintage which was characterised by average seasonal temperatures throughout the year but with high rainfall recorded between November 2010 and February 2011. These conditions resulted in an exceptionally late and slow grape maturity, making the 2011 harvest Village Square 20-25th December 2013 date the latest one of the last 15 years. More specifically, the Ghajn Rihana Estate harvest yield was one of the lowest ever recorded with grape yields being generally much lower than average. The excellent maturity produced an exceptionally concentrated full bodied wine characterised by its typical intense fruity bouquet and velvety smooth tannins. Marsovin CEO Jeremy Cassar said, "We have tried our very best to distribute all Grand Maitre bottles produced from the 2011 vintage in a fair manner and I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for an inconvenience caused to our esteemed clients".
