Since Enrico Piccioni took over as coach, Mosta have now gone six matches without defeat. Hibernians on the other hand lost a great chance to go level on points with Valletta in second place. Hibernians were in control for most of the first half. After just five minutes of play, Hi- bernians' Obinna Obiefule had his perfect chance on goal cleared to safe- ty by goalkeeper Omar Borg. The Mosta goalkeeper denied Hi- bernians from taking the lead again after he blocked another close-range shot by Obinna Obiefule. Mosta managed to take the lead on the 13th minute. With Hibernians down to 10 men due to Jonathan Pearson receiving treatment, Bojan Kaljevic received a perfect pass and rushed into the area to beat goal- keeper Jurgen Borg with his shot from close range. Mosta started to gain more confi- dence as the match progressed. On the 25th minute, Mosta's Mano Micallef had a great chance to score, but goalkeeper Jurgen Borg made sure the ball stayed out of his net. Mosta doubled their lead eight min- utes into the second half. On another counter-attack Gian Marco Piccioni served Bojan Kalevic who then beat slotted the ball past the on rushing Jurgen Borg. Hibernians were trying everything to try to get back into the match but they could not break down Mosta's solid rearguard. Mosta almost scored their third goal of the match on the 85th minute but Gianmarco Piccioni's shot hit the woodwork. Hibernians managed to score on the 88th minute. Off a cross by Andrew Cohen, Obina Obiefule's header hit the posts before ending at the back of the net. The depleted Rabat side held on to earn a point against a stronger Naxxar side. Rabat managed to take the lead on the 38th minute. A pass by Ryan Micallef to Malcolm Licari, was de- flected by a defender, but the ball still managed to go towards Licari and the latter easily beat goalkeeper Julian Az- zopardi with his shot. Naxxar came close to scoring min- utes before the first half ended. Angus Buhagiar served Terence Scerri who then had his powerful shot scrape past the post. Rabat went close to scoring on the 45th minute when off a freekick by Wayne Borg, Malcolm Licari's headed the ball just wide. Naxxar lost a great chance to equal- ise in added time when they were awarded a penalty. Patrick Borg han- dled the ball inside the area and ref- eree Alan Mario Sant immediately pointed to the penalty spot. Andre Rocha da Silva failed to score from the penalty spot when goalkeeper Pavle Velimirovic made a brilliant save. At the start of the second half, Naxx- ar continued to dominate the match, but Rabat were putting in a great per- formance to keep them neutralised. The match turned for the worse for Rabat as they had a player sent off on the 82nd minute. Zachary Tanti re- ceived a second yellow card for a fould just outside the area. With a man down, Naxxar had more control of the match and man- aged to score the equaliser on the 86th minute. Off a cross by Raimi Bakare, Terence Scerri beat goalkeeper Pavle Velimirovic with a powerful shot from close range. Naxxar gained more confidence and almost scored the winning goal on the 90th minute when a fine header by Terence Scerri was held on the goal line by goalkeeper Pavle Velimirovic.
