Krishna C.C took on Marsa C.C. The Marsa team won the toss and elected to bat first. Tony Azzopardi and Frank Spiteri opened the batting and put on a mighty partnership of eighty eight runs before Spiteri was out who made thirty five runs from thirty one balls which included five fours. Azzopardi went on to retire and made a well deserved fifty one runs which included an impressive seven fours. He was later to return to the crease and remained not out with the same score. Joy Ghoseroy made twenty five runs which include four fours. Sidharth Anand made seven- teen runs and Ronnie Sacco ten runs as the main scorers. The Marsa team were bowled out in the twenty fourth over and totalled 169 runs. For Krish- na, Tom Newell, Bikram Arora and Kevin Krishna took two wickets each while Tony Slater took one. Nowell Khosla and Haroon Majeed opened the innings and also put up a decent opening partnership of sev- enty eight runs. Majeed was first to go making twenty eight runs from fif- teen balls which included four fours and a six. Khosla was next to go and he made his highest score of the tour- nament, fifty seven runs which in- cluded eight fours and a six, very well done. Mike Caruana managed to re- tire and made thirty eight runs while new man Tom Newell made thirty six runs not out from twenty four deliver- ies which included four fours and led the way to a Krishna win. For Marsa Ewan Prezens, Sarfraz Ali and Ronnie Sacco took a wicket each. From this win the Krishna earned fifteen points which gives them an unassailable total of eighty four points. Krishna C.C win their fifth title. Well done Krishna. The final game of the tournament between Marsa and Melita will be in two weeks time. Next Saturday sees the first tour- ing team – George tyes XI. Saturday morning the Sunoco cricket academy will be from 9:00am toll 10:30am.
