The survey confirms that despite strong-arm tactics by the Labour government to deal with migration, concern over the movement of asylum seekers into Malta is rising on the eve of the European Parlia- ment elections. Interestingly, younger re- spondents aged 18-34 are the most concerned with migra- tion, although the concern is highest amongst those with a post-secondary education. Evident in the survey is a general profile of the 'switch- ers', those who voted PN in 2008 but voted Labour in 2013: they have become the most concerned about corruption, which as a concern in itself has rise to the highest ever mark registered in a MaltaToday survey. Concern about jobs rose by three points to 21%, while concerns about government finances and the citizenship scheme fell to 5% and 3% re- spectively. And while concern on the utility bills has fallen drasti- cally, worries about the loca- tion of the floating LNG ter- minal has risen to 7%. Nationalist voters also tend to be the most concerned about the environment. mbank.com 2132 2100 FIMBank is an international trade nance specialist with an established reputation as a dynamic and customer-driven provider of trade nance solutions. Lisa Maria Zahra, daughter of the entrepreneur Tony Zahra, lost her life in a tragic accident on Wednes- day, 19 March at the foot of Dingli cliffs. Her family says she had been missing since Tuesday, and that she was accompanied to Dingli by Tanti in his car. Tanti, found injured in the same location, is in critical condition at Mater Dei's intensive therapy unit. "Upon the conclusion of the police investigation, the Council for the Teaching Profession not only has the right but also the duty to investigate any complaint of gross negligence or breach of ethics," Evarist Bartolo told MaltaToday on the case. PAGE 3 SAVIOUR BALZAN THE Maltese government had decided to underwrite an in- surance risk for Enemalta, after it relocated a gas storage plant from Qajjenza in Birzebbugia, to Bengħisa – right in the mid- dle of the Malta International Airport's f light-path. Cabinet papers from 2006 show that after the relocation of the LPG storage plant from Birzebbugia, the director of civil aviation raised serious concerns over the fact that the new Bengħisa plant was sited in the f light path of the Malta International Airport. The government agreed to take up the civil aviation's suggestion that it should un- derwrite the plant against the risk of an explosion due to an aircraft incident, even though the possibility of this happen- ing was remote.
