PUBLIC TALKS JUNE 19 Painters and Photographers: Caroline Tonna Lecture about how the evolution of photography influenced the further development of painting, by Caroline Tonna, held at the Malta Maritime Museum, Birgu at 19:00. In particular, the lecture will look at two case-studies: firstly, the collaboration between the painter Giuseppe Calì (1846-1930) and the photographers Ugo Calì (1878-?) and Richard Ellis (1842-1924); and secondly, the collaboration of the painters Edward Caruana Dingli (1876-1950) and Robert Caruana Dingli (1882-1940) with photographer Richard Ellis (1842- 1924).
