Events 40 maltatoday, Sunday, 27 July 2014 Red Electrick to perform tonight at Farsons Beer Festival Laguna Walk at SmartCity Malta recently hosted the Malta Arti- san Market for the first time at its breath-taking premises. The fair welcomed an excellent turnout of around 1,000 visitors who f locked to the new events hub in the south of Malta to attend the various stalls set up for the evening of 6 July, 2014. The exhibitors on the day in- cluded: Alvalenti, Angela Demarco, Cristal Chic Jewelery, Dragonlord Creations, Ela's Creations, Judith Thomas Jewellery, Kevin Attard, Mette Lorenzen, New Eggsperience, Novelty Woodworks, Rita's Beading Boutique, RTG Jewels, Saliba's Gold & Silversmith, Stephanie Borg and Terra Vita. Since its inception, the Malta Ar- tisan Market has actively sought out exciting and beautiful loca- tions to host its prestigious events around Malta, including Vittoriosa, Senglea, Kalkara, Palazzo de Piro, Mdina, Valletta and the Phoenicia Hotel and now, SmartCity Malta where the arts community in Malta can set up shop from an evening to a weekend. The Malta Artisan Market was set up from Vittoriosa three years ago in May 2011 with the sole aim of providing a space and showcase for local talent – that pertaining to the thriving arts and crafts scene. Through these markets tourists and Maltese alike can buy genuine lo- cally produced and affordable items directly from food producers, art- ists and craftspeople. Whether it is a jar of home-made chutney you are after or an exqui- site painting, an interesting piece of ceramics or a unique piece of jewel- lery, the Malta Artisan Market has it all. Headliners Red Electrick will be performing tonight live at the Far- sons Beer Festival at Ta' Qali Na- tional Park. Promising to be another evening of great entertainment, the open-air festival is expected to draw in thousands more of festival goers and fans of Malta's top local bands. Hosted by Daniel and Sander, the Main Stage will provide the platform to Infinite Loop and What the Funk while Different Strings will be play- ing on the Rock Stage.
