This is the third major European football club to contract airX as pro- vider of air charter transportation for their 'away' league matches. Last month, the company had announced a similar agreement with the English Premier League team Southampton Football Club and has recently car- ried another French football team - St Etienne – for league matches. In addition, the company has also announced that its aircraft fleet will grow once again with the addition of a Legacy 600 aircraft, bringing the total number of aircraft under the company's management to eight, with a combined asset under man- agement value of $100 million. The new Legacy 600 will be regis- tered in Malta. Five of the eight airX aircraft are registered in Malta. Details of the company's achieve- ments during this quarter were given by the company's Chairman, John B. Matthews, during a press conference held within the airport's perimeter as part of the final preparations for the airX Malta International Airshow 2014. The press conference was also addressed by the Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis and Joe Cili- berti, President of the Malta Aviation Society. For the second year running, airX is providing financial support to the Malta Aviation Society to organise the airX Malta International Air- show. In his comments to the media, Mat- thews said that airX continues to be the air charter operator of choice for more A-list celebrities and VIP's. He announced that airX has recently flown Angelina Jolie to Malta. Be- yonce and her family as well as the cast of the blockbuster movie The Expandables 3 including Sylvester Stallone. "airX is actively pursuing other areas of growth and more aircraft are expected to join our fleet in the coming months. This is good news for Malta and good news for airX. To ensure that airX is well equipped for the current and projected growth, we have put in place a strong execu- tive team made up of 4 chief officers, including a Maltese Chief Financial Officer whom we helped to relocate from the UK to Malta," Matthews explained. "The financial support we provide for the organisation of the airX Malta International Airshow 2014 is just one example of our active support to help in growing Malta's aviation industry. To date, more than 60% of our aircraft fly the Maltese registra- tion flag. The company will continue to expand its operations in Malta and more airX business jets will be added to the Maltese aviation register over the coming months," explained Mat- thews. airX is a private air charter compa- ny, providing luxury charter flights on private jets across Europe to sev- eral clients who most regularly in- clude A-list celebrities, ranging from Hollywood movie stars to pop artists, members of royal families, top cor- porate executives and government ministers. In his concluding remarks, Mat- thews thanked the Malta Aviation Society for their hard work in organ- ising the airshow for the 22nd year and wished them well on their efforts to promote aviation in Malta.
