NOVEMBER 14-16 Il-Kulur tal-Perlini To mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Maltese dramatist Ġuże Chetcuti (1914-2006), Talenti, in collaboration with the Manoel eatre, present the Maltese play 'Il-Kuluri tal-Perlini' written and directed by Żep Camilleri, an adaptation of Ġuże Chetcuti's play 'Imħuħ Morda'. NOVEMBER 17-22 Ziguzajg Annual festival of performing arts aimed at children and young adults, taking place over various venues in Valletta. Similar to previous years the Festival will present an eclectic programme of international performances and commissioned work to thousands of Maltese children, young people and their families. NOVEMBER 21 Choral and orchestral concert A grand choral and orchestral concert in honour of St Cecilia, patron saint of music and musicians. Charles Gounod at his best including the celebrated 'Messe Solennelle de Sainte Cécile' at St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta at 19:30. Director: Hugo Agius Muscat and Organist: Elisabeth Conrad. Entrance is free but donations to the Richmond Foundation would be appreciated. NOVEMBER 21-23; 28-30 Marjelena Original play penned by first- time playwright Leanne Ellul and directed by Josette Ciappara, to be staged at Pjazza Teatru Rjal (green room) at 20:00. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL NOVEMBER 7 Maltese Confabulations Multidisciplinary exhibition by German artist Bettina Hustchek at Blitz, St Lucy Street, Valletta. Fragments of Maltese reality are interwoven in the various narrations, forming the basis for artistic storytelling and presenting a body of work that is to be understood simultaneously, not chronologically. Opening hours: 10:00 to 15:00 (Tuesday to ursday); 15:00 to 19:00 (Friday and Saturday). UNTIL NOVEMBER 9 CONSTRUCT An exhibition of paintings by Celia Borg Cardona at St James Cavalier, Valletta. e work on display shows that the painter's steadfast interest in streetscapes and bird's eye views of gatherings of people has now turned into a focus on sweeping, soaring architectural views of Maltese towns, sometimes on correspondingly oversize canvases. UNTIL NOVEMBER 14 /ru:t/ Collective exhibition organised to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Malta's accession into the EU, organised at the Malta Maritime Museum, Birgu. Featuring artists Adrian Abela, Anna Grima, Charles Balzan, Elisa Von Brockdorff, Karen Caruana, Stephen Vella, Umberto Buttigieg and Victor Agius. Curated by Fabrizio Fleri Soler, the exhibition is an initiative of Fondazzjoni Ċelebrazzjonijiet Nazzjonali, and is being coordinated by Arts Council Malta, in collaboration with the Valletta 2018 Foundation. UNTIL NOVEMBER 29 Mario Cassar: Timeless Exhibition of 'found art' sculptures by Gozitan artist Mario Cassar at Vini e Capricci, Xewkija. COMICS CONVENTION NOVEMBER 29, 30 Malta Comic Con Annual comics convention organised by Wicked Comics at St James Cavalier, Valletta. Visitors will be able to meet distinguished comic book creators from Europe and America, as well as purchase comics from both creators and dealers. e convention will also feature a cosplay and gaming element. e sixth edition of this popular multi- media event will be held at St James Cavalier, Valletta on November 29 (10:00-18:00) and 30 (11:00-19:00). is edition will feature renowned creators Michael Dialynas (e Woods), and Lew Stringer (e Beano) as well as professional Maltese but currently London based creator Daniela 'iella' Attard (e Ugly Duckling) will be joining Yishan Li, Rufus Dayglo, Andrew Wildman, Guillermo Ortego, Steve Scott, Mickey Lam, Mike Collins, Cliodhna, Dave Taylor, Christian Ward, and John-Paul Kamath.
