maltatoday, WEDNESDAY, 10 JUNE 2015 17 Events YOUR FIRST CLICK OF THE DAY www.maltatoday.com.mt Science in the City wins EFFE Label THE annual event Science in the City—European Research- ers' Night has been recognised by the Europe for Festivals, Fes- tivals for Europe (EFFE) as one of Europe's finest festivals and awarded the EFFE label 2015– 2016, along with 12 other local festivals (www.effe.eu/node/64). EFFE is a new international platform connecting festivals that are deeply committed to the arts, the community and European values. Audiences worldwide can access up-to- date festival information and participate in any of these Eu- ropean events. EFFE recognises the excellence of these festivals in their work across Europe. Following an open call for the EFFE Label 2015-2016, hundreds of festivals submitted applica- tions evaluated on the following criteria: artistic commitment, community involvement, and a festival's international and glo- bal outlook. National experts, appointed by EFFE's national contact points, scored the ap- plications and presented the findings to an international jury which nominated the EFFE La- bel 2015-2016 recipients. This year Science in the City will be held on 25 September from 6pm till midnight. The festival events run from City Entrance to St George's Square filling the street, squares and buildings with science and art. The fascination for science will be manifested through in- teractive experiments, debates, and a number of art forms. One of the star attractions this year will be a Comet landing simu- lating the Rosetta mission and Philae probe. The Science in the City fes- tival—European Researchers' Night is supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action of the European Union Horizon 2020 (H2020) Programme. The event is led by the University of Mal- ta Research Trust (RIDT) and Malta Chamber of Scientists in partnership with Karl Borg Events, Studio 7, MEUSAC, Valletta Local Council, Malta Council for Science and Tech- nology, Malta College for Arts, Science and Technology, PBS, Notte Bianca, St James Cavalier, and General Soft Drinks with Coca Cola. The all new Mazda2 IT may be a small car, but there is no doubt that it's a clever, com- fortable and confident one: The all-new Mazda2 is set to take the B segment by storm. The all-new Mazda2 combines the complete range of SKYACTIV Technology with a stunning KO- DO – Soul of Motion design very similar to the Mazda Hazumi con- cept unveiled in Geneva in March. The cabin itself, meanwhile, is sur- prisingly spacious and comfort- able, particularly for the driver but also with top-class rear legroom. The outgoing Mazda2 is a like- able car, with easy handling and an amiably unpretentious image.. It's slightly longer than the car it replaces - mostly in the wheelbase - and while its overall shape is nigh on identical, there's way more el- egance and complexity to its front end. Mazda's attention to detail sees it tip the scales at 1,050kg, which is light even in this sector. The bene- fits are instantaneously obvious, as it is instilled with an agility and en- thusiasm to change direction that goes hand in hand with its perky little engine. The all-new Mazda2 offers more of everything as it's lengthier with a bigger wheelbase, a roomier interior, and a display of i-ACTIVSENSE active security systems to go with the substantial level of equipment for a supermi- ni. Introducing the ARYA Virtual office telephony system THE business of today is fast, dy- namic and on the move. Executives are not stuck to their desks any long- er but are now mobile, setting meet- ings outside the office and bringing in new business. Flexibility in communication be- tween office staff is crucial but to what extent can a company afford to subsidize mobile phone bills and landline phone charges? Enter ARYA. The new Virtual Office Te- lephony System. Now you can create a more widespread office telephony system without investing in any hardware. This is because most of the exist- ing communication devices in the office can be easily transformed in- to an ARYA phone extension. This includes mobile phones, landline phones and even a simple headphone set attached to your PC/MAC. With ARYA, your mobile phone can become your office extension. This means that incoming calls to the office landline number can be transferred for free to any device connected to ARYA, including mobile phones that are at least 3G enabled. With ARYA, your staff are always at their desk, even when on outside meetings. ARYA is not only about phone calls. We have introduced modules such as Video Conferencing and SMS. Organising a surprise birth- day cake for the boss? Send all the staff an instant SMS to join in the fun….all except the boss of course. This can be extended to clients and entire databases. With ARYA's Vid- eo Conferencing module, meetings can be done face-to-face without leaving your desk, or if you want to rope in another staff member dur- ing an outside visit, ARYA can make it happen with the touch of a but- ton. PABX systems are a thing of the past. ARYA is a product of OZONE Ltd, purveyors of telecommunica- tion and networking services in Malta and Gozo. Ozone Ltd CEO, Mr. Robert Runza comments, "We have come up with a product that suits the needs and pockets of most SMEs and start-ups. We believe we made a big step in transforming of- fice telecommunication from being a 'necessary expense' to an 'excellent business tool'."
