The video of the two races is produced by AMG TV, and it is now available on YouTube. h t t p s : // w w w.y o u t u b e . c o m / watch?v=RiSLY2iCPKM Bernard Galea with racing number 91, and Rodren Vella with the distinctive orange-col- oured Civic racing number 89 are mentioned several times by British commentator Ian Sow- man. Bernard Galea's car features from the very beginning of the first race as he began from the front row of the starting grid. The video of the first race shows Bernard challenging Carl Swift for the lead in several laps, and defending his second position from Endaf Owens. In the very last lap of the first race Bernard managed to keep his cool, and defend his position with great skill from a final at- tack by Welsh driver Endaf, los- ing his car's bumper in the proc- ess! As a result of his excellent sec- ond position and podium finish, Bernard was interviewed on Mo- tors TV by British commentator Ian Sowman at the end of the first race (segment 15 minutes 2 seconds). Rodren Vella is similarly men- tioned several times as the sec- ond Maltese driver during the first race and some of the seg- ments of the video are taken from his in-car camera! In the second race, Bernard is seen moving from the ninth position on the starting grid in the 5th row – on account of the reverse order applied to the first 10 finishers in the first race – to the 4th position by the end of the second race. Rodren Vella is filmed overtak- ing a competitor in the second race through his in-car camera. British commentator Ian Sow- man did not fail to notice that the two Maltese drivers had "the Maltese Tourist Authority get- ting behind them as well" (in the segment at 20 minutes and 36 seconds). Both Maltese drivers are giv- ing a very good account of them- selves and exhibiting true racing talent and sporting spirit. After 3 rounds, Bernard is now 3rd in the championship with 106 points, while Rodren is 7th with 56 points. Bernard Galea has set up a fund to seek support from motor sport followers to make sure that he completes the 2015 Civic Cup Championship. ht t p ://w w w.g o f u n d m e . c o m / bernardgalea Bernard Galea interviewed on Motors TV at Croft Circuit Rodren Vella's in-car camera - overtaking a competitor at early part of race one at Croft Circuit Imola in talks to host Italian Grand Prix IMOLA has entered discussions with Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone about taking over as the host circuit of the Italian Grand Prix. The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari has not hosted Formula 1 since the 2006 season, when it staged the San Marino Grand Prix. Monza currently hosts the Ital- ian Grand Prix, but the venue does not have a contract in place with Ecclestone beyond the 2016 campaign. Imola's mayor, Daniele Manca, met with Ecclestone on Monday, along with Uberto Selvatico Es- tense, President of Formula Im- ola, and Stefano Manara, Presi- dent of CON.AMI. "We wanted to show Eccle- stone how willing Imola was to get Formula 1 back – but also do our part to keep the Grand Prix in Italy," Manca told Motorsport. com. "We presented our plan to re- launch the circuit, outline the investments we have made and what we plan to do in the coming years with our infrastructure." Manca says the 2017 season is a realistic target for the race. "There are issues to sort out – and one factor is obviously the economy," he added. "But Ecclestone has agreed to check the timeframe and condi- tions under which it would be possible to get Formula 1 back to Imola. The target is 2017."
