Kurt Zammit sent a cross inside the penalty ar- ea that was met by Joseph Mbong who headed home past George Tasouris. Kyran Nwoko double the score for Malta on the 56th minute. Nwoko received the ball inside the area and sent a header that ended up inside the net. Cyprus reduced the margin of the score on the 75th minute. Sub- stitute Marios Ilia went on the left flank before delivering the ball towards Fytos Kyriakou. The Cyp- riot player finished home from close range. Ionnois Pittas made the score level five minutes from time. The striker fired a shot that gave Philip Schranz no chance. Two minutes later, Malta were close to score the winning goal af- ter Jurgen Suda saw his effort hit- ting the post.
