The Shireburn Indigo Payroll software application has attracted businesses interested in a solution that combines high levels of func- tionality with an appealing inter- face, excellence of support and a predictable subscription based model of Cloud based deployment with the flexibility to work from anywhere. An employee portal is available for staff to access securely, apply for vacation leave, check their own leave balances, download their payslips as well as view their FS3s, to name a few. This increasingly reduces much of the administra- tive load placed on HR and pay- roll departments, whilst engaging employees with an element of self service in a highly secured envi- ronment. "This has been an important milestone for Shireburn, affirm- ing the outstanding work of our team, our innovative ideas and our ability to successfully develop, take to market and support a local product offering. It also confirms the readiness of local businesses to shift their solutions to the cloud and invest in the latest technology when running their enterprise," said John de Giorgio, Managing Director of Shireburn Software. In celebration of this major event, Shireburn is releasing some major new features in relation to attendance management and dual factor authentication, which will be announced at the Annual HR Conference organised by the Foundation for Human Resourc- es Development (FHRD) taking place on the 20th October. Shire- burn is once again an official part- ner of this conference that brings together more than 400 profes- sionals in what has become Malta largest HR gathering. Shireburn Software has been providing business software so- lutions for more than 30 years, including payroll solutions which today process over 60,000 em- ployees' payroll and HR. Always looking to innovate, the company redeveloped its payroll offering launching the Cloud based Shire- burn Indigo Payroll in line with the new philosophy of system de- ployment sought by the market while implementing the highest levels of security and reliability. Shireburn Indigo Payroll also scooped up the award for the Best Business to Business Application at the Malta Communications Authority eBusiness Awards ear- lier this year. Shireburn has created a very high reputation for combining solutions with high capabilities and reliability combined with the highest levels of customer service which has driven many competi- tive wins in this last year. Spaces, a local company which not only sells furniture, but of- fers valuable advice and options on how to turn your living spac- es into functional rooms for everyone, has proudly provided works for the extensive restora- tion of San Anton Palace. The works helped the official residence of the President of Malta to be brought to its origi- nal state in order to be enjoyed by the Maltese and Gozitans alike. "It is difficult to fathom the amount of work and time re- quired for a restoration of this type. Witnessing some of the works being carried out has helped us comprehend how painstaking such restoration is," said Marcel Mercieca, Man- aging Director of Spaces. "We are pleased that we have com- mitted to such valuable restora- tion works." Spaces, through its partner- ship with Seven Sedie Chairs and Scappini, provided San Anton Palace with loose and custom furniture to give rooms a refreshed look and feel for in- creased value in utility. They also provided wooden wall cladding, wooden soffits and wooden parquet flooring, to safeguard the historic value and authenticity of the Palace. The restoration began in early 2015 and among the areas that were restored were the rooms around the private garden. Fol- lowing this, the stables built by the Knights in the 16th Cen- tury which were being used as garages and storage areas were also transformed into rooms for different uses such as lecture rooms, as well as for exhibi- tions, talks, seminars, chamber music presentations and similar activities. Once again this year MAPFRE joins in with commemorating the Day Against Breast Cancer, Octo- ber 19, with a global information and prevention campaign and a variety of initiatives for company employees all over the world to join in with during October. In Malta, MAPFRE Middlesea held a team building exercise with all the staff wherein everyone dressed in Pink and all the pro- ceeds will go towards the Pink October Fund. In addition, to support all the women already affected by this disease, MAPFRE changed the color of the cor- porate profiles on its social net- works and the group's principal website to pink, and in Malta we placed pink banners outside the Head office building. In Spain, MAPFRE will support and participate in the work of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) by installing in- formation booths on behalf of the organization in 20 of the cent- ers the insurance company has around Spain, where volunteers from the company will hand out pink bows and other symbols of the fight against breast cancer. They have also illuminated the MAPFRE Tower in Barcelona and the company's offices in Malaga and Seville in pink. Breast cancer is the most com- mon cancer among women all over the world, prevention and early detection is the best way of fighting against this disease – which also affects men, although the incidence is lower for males. MAPFRE's health insurance of- fers special preventive and re- habilitative medical services for the early diagnosis of breast ail- ments. This is one of the company's initiatives for raising awareness of and improving the health and well-being of its employees, their families and society, a goal it also promotes via its corporate Healthy Company program. It is also another of the many activi- ties within MAPFRE's Corporate Volunteering Program, run by Fundación MAPFRE, which can be accessed at https://www.mid- dlesea.com/insurance-mt/about- us/fundacion-mapfre/ Team building exercises and pink banners, among other initiatives to raise awareness about breast cancer
