maltatoday WEDNESDAY 14 MARCH 2018 17 Events Atlas donates kitchenware to Rainbow Ward ATLAS Insurance has recently donated new kitchenware to the Rainbow Ward within the Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre. The presentation was done by Atlas Marketing and HR Manager, Jackie Attard Montalto during a visit to the ward. Parents who need to spend long periods of time at the hospital because of their children's conditions spend a lot of time in the ward's kitchen, to bring the comfort of home cooked food to them, and with a full set of kitchenware this task is definitely a lot easier. "In this small way, we hope to give some res- pite to the parents and their children who are here for longer stays," said Attard Montalto. "We are proud to help the Rainbow Ward team, led by Angele and Rennie from Puttinu Cares. Their enthusiasm and positive attitude is a shining example to all of us, in their effort to create a comfortable home at the Rainbow Ward for their young patients and their par- ents." Moreover, Patrimonju has earned an enviable reputation for the spectacular exhibitions it has already organised in its relatively short existence. HSBC Malta Foundation, a longstanding supporter, has now pledged another €35,000 to Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti to reinforce its mission of spreading awareness of the unique Maltese's cultural her- itage. HSBC Malta CEO An- drew Beane said: "We view our association with Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti with respect and pride as it underlines our mutual affinity and apprecia- tion for the beautiful heritage – including lesser-known as- pects of Maltese art such as Maltese wall clocks (l-Arloġġ tal-Lira), antique silver jewel- lery, and antique furniture and costumes – that one can find in Malta, whether in Mdina, Valletta or in one of the vari- ous localities." The donation was handed by Andrew Beane to Michael Lowell, CEO Fondazzjoni Pat- rimonju Malti, during a visit at Palazzo Falson in Mdina where an exhibition entitled 'The Devil of the Brush' is cur- rently being displayed. Lowell stated that 'The Devil of the Brush' was a first in a new series of exhibitions that moved away from the exami- nation of objects for their type and function, and explored concepts and their manifesta- tion in art. The exhibition celebrates speed and explores the excit- ing dynamics between artis- tic invention and technical brilliance through paintings, statuary, drawings, modelli and bozzetti executed by the major protagonists of Maltese Art between 1650 and 2000. This exhibition is open for viewing until 25th March 2018. HSBC Malta's partnership with FPM underlines its appreciation for beautiful Maltese heritage Free Tallinja wi-fi on buses MALTA Public Transport and Transport Malta have teamed up to continue to improve the customer experience on board public transport buses by in- troducing Free wi-fi for pas- sengers. During the pilot project phase, which will run for a pe- riod of three months, 50 buses will immediately be offering free Wi-Fi for all passengers. "This investment is part of our strategy to continue im- proving the overall customer experience for our passen- gers" said Konrad Pulé, Gen- eral Manager of Malta Public Transport. "More and more people are using our buses and we want to offer them the opportunity to keep connect- ed for free during their bus journey." The Free Tallinja wi-fi is available on a variety of buses during the first three months, on both 9-metre and 12-me- tre buses, including airport buses, spread in different lo- cations so as to ensure that the service is tested across the island. This is a pilot project and the public is encouraged to provide any feedback on tallinjawifi@publictransport. com.mt. The system was designed and installed by HandsOn Systems who are responsible for the maintenance and sup- port, while the data service is being supplied by GO. Following the successful completion of this pilot, the aim is to have all buses in Malta and Gozo providing free wi-fi.
