Frank Salt Real Estate exhibits Nickie Sultana's art collection at Sliema branch LOCAL artist Nickie Sultana re- cently collaborated with Branch Manager George Vassallo at Frank Salt Real Estate's Sliema Branch to host a solo art exhibition within the branch on Tower Road, Sliema. George made adjustments to his branch in order to be able to display art collections on a larger scale and Nickie, an internation- ally celebrated Maltese artist, was the obvious choice to be the first artist to display an art collection within the branch. The exhibition kicked off with a lively evening launch event, well attended by cli- ents and friends of both Frank Salt Real Estate and Nickie Sultana, and with Nickie's art available to sell, there was keen interest in se- curing a piece. Nickie studied classical and contemporary art at Lorenzo Dei Medici University, Leonardo Da Vinci Art Academy and Acca- demia del Giglio in Florence Italy. Apart from solo exhibitions she also participates in collective ones both locally and overseas. The collection covers each genre of her work, from flora to busy local streets, portraits to landscapes, and from seascapes to calm beach scenes. The exhibition marks the first event hosted by Frank Salt Real Estate in support of artists in Malta. The branch network across Malta and Gozo already display an extensive collection of art on its walls and the company will continue to organise events in branches in support of art initia- tives. "In line with our Frank Salt brand promise, we believe in be- ing relevant and local," said Car- men Chilton, Marketing Manager of Frank Salt Real Estate. "Art, in any form, is an obvious link to property. We all know how it feels to have that piece of art in our home or office that means some- thing to us and for us to be able to collaborate with talented artists living and working in Malta, is a wonderful initiative." The Shoreline appoints LEED, lighting and acoustics consultants THE Shoreline Residence Ltd is focused on ensuring that its €200 million landmark project on the east coast of Malta is based on achieving sustainable solutions to deliver internal and external environments of the future, to- day. For this purpose, the private consortium has appointed light- ing consultant Franck Franjou from France, acoustic consult- ant Hann Tucker Associates Ltd from the UK and LEED consult- ant Greenwich from Italy. These appointments follow the company's January 2018 call to invite a main contractor to carry out the design and construction of the project, which attracted the attention of a substantial number of interested engineering and construction firms from leading consultancy, advisory, construc- tion and operations companies operating in Malta and interna- tionally. Franck Franjou, of the epony- mous independent lighting firm, has won a number of accolades for creating bold statements us- ing the power of light and counts as his iconic credits, among oth- ers, the lighting work at the new City Gate in Valletta. Hann Tucker Associates Ltd is one of the world's leading acous- tic consultants and have insu- lated buildings of all types from retail to education to healthcare, counting everyone from Harrods to Sainsbury's as their clients. The Italy-based Greenwich Srl specialises in services for green- building certifications such as LEED and BREEAM. These building codes are often used by property developers around the world to make their develop- ments sustainable. Worldwide, there are more than 140 existing sustainable assessment meth- ods, although LEED (US) and BREEAM (UK) remain the more popular rating systems. "The Shoreline is certainly not a conventional development. It is designed to be a sustainable, community-focused, environ- ment-friendly and a visual mas- terpiece of modern Maltese ar- chitecture. The combination of a LEED certified development, together with quality attributes such as sound and noise-proofing and other unique features, are resonating across the industry as well as with potential home owners and investors," said Ryan Otto, Managing Director at The Shoreline Residence. The Shoreline will be home to approximately 400 luxury apart- ments complete with shopping mall, recreation centres, and oth- er amenities, making it the larg- est private construction project in Malta to date. The mixed-use development is envisaged to bring the excitement of a leisure destination to Smart- City Malta, offering a varied mix of 1, 2, 3-bedroom residences that enjoy spectacular views, landscaped open spaces, and an assortment of community amen- ities. These apartments enjoy a Special Designated Area Status (SDA), and fully conform to the parameters of the approved 2008 Masterplan for SmartCity Malta.
