17 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 19 DECEMBER 2018 COMMERCIAL LAST November, OZO Group became Malta's first com- pany to successfully complete the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) ELITE two- year training programme. The certification now sees it join a 1,000-strong, Europe-wide group of companies that aims to support ambitious private businesses towards growth and investment. "We are proud to have achieved such a milestone," says Fabio Muscat, the CEO of OZO Group. "It's been a demanding process, but one which has continued to solidify our business, raise its profile, and give back to all our em- ployees… We are grateful to everyone who's helped us with this achievement!" The news comes at the end of another successful year for OZO Group, which specialises in cleaning and outsourcing of personnel in several industries, including hospitality, manufac- turing, retail, and care, to men- tion a few. In fact, earlier this year, the Group was selected as the 'National Winner' for the third consecutive year by the European Business Awards. As an LSEG ELITE member, OZO Group has access to nu- merous members-only privi- leges. On top of its comprehensive programme for founders and managers to help stimulate or- ganisational review and change – which OZO Group has just completed – this membership also entitles OZO Group to seek advice from the ELITE community on goals and change implementation, and the use of ELITE's own pro- fessional investor platform, among other resources. "We will be using all this to continue with our mission for 2019 and beyond, as well as to continue investing in our employees across the board," Muscat concludes. Christmas lunch with a twist for the employees at AX Hotels Sliema Sports activities for all the family as an alternative to gambling Activities organised by the Responsible Gaming Foundation are an ideal way to make any person in need of help aware of the services offered by the same foundation for those aff licted by the gambling addiction THE picturesque village of Siġġiewi welcomed an enthu- siastic crowd of adults and en- ergetic kids for a sports activ- ity at the Siġġiewi F.C. football ground. The event was the brainchild of the Siġġiewi Football Club Youth Nursery, headed by President Jonathan Vassallo, with the participation of the Responsible Gaming Foun- dation and Silvio Schembri, the Parliamentary Secretary for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation in the Prime Minister's Office. After a thanksgiving Mass and welcome speeches, cer- tificates of participation were presented to those present. The sports activities varied from football games where groups of U8, U9, U10 and U11 play- ers were involved together with the Naxxar Football Nursery, a penalty shoot-out, matches organised between coaches, parents and grown ups, keep fit sessions, a karate show, a small quiz session and an interview conducted with members of the Siġġiewi F.C. committee. Musical involvement was also included in the event with the Saint Nicholas Band parading from the Siġġiewi village square to the football ground. Schembri said that activities organised by the Responsible Gaming Foundation were an ideal way to make any person in need of help aware of the ser- vices offered by the same foun- dation for those afflicted by the gambling addiction. "For this reason the founda- tion trains its staff to be in a better position to offer all the help needed. With the help of such sports activities that are organised all year round we can keep our young ones and those vulnerable away from addic- tions and in the same time we offer an alternative," he said. The promotions executive of the Responsible Gaming Foundation, Kayne Said, talked about the importance of raising awareness about responsible gaming and also made refer- ence to the Education Cam- paign among fourth year pri- mary students, where RGF staff visit schools around Malta and Gozo alongside their mascot ''Chippy'', to describe and dis- cuss the problem of compulsive gambling from the early ages. He also referred to the RGF freephone service 1777, where people suffering from addiction or relatives of such persons can call anonymously and find all the appropriate assistance from the trained staff of the founda- tion. The President of the Siġġiewi Football Club Youth Nursery, Jonathan Vassallo, said that Siġġiewi F.C. received help from the CSRP of the founda- tion. He thanked all those who worked indirectly and directly in planning the event and all those who participated in the various sports activities.
