17 COMMERCIAL maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 13 FEBRUARY 2019 Hudson Group opens new River Island store in Bay Street HUDSON Group has just opened a new River Island store at Level 1, Bay Street, St Julians. This new store, based on the brand's latest concept design, is the second River Is- land store opened by Hudson in Malta. Like the River Island store at The Point, this new store will present a fresh, flexible and surprising brand expe- rience for clients, embody- ing the wow factor that is so engrained in River Island's DNA. The store will host the latest trends of the season for wom- en including 'Sloane' which boasts preppy highlights of blue and red and the Chain print. Other featured styles include 80s monochrome dressing accented with zebra print, Neon, and of course River Island's signature Her- itage tones of rich chocolate accented with animal prints. Every woman can find den- im cuts to fit their curves, or jeans to fit any occasion be it day-time wear or for that spe- cial weekend outing. As is synonymous with River Island, this store will host a variety of signature handbags and shoes. The opening was celebrated with an official launch which welcomed numerous mem- bers of the public, fashion in- fluencers, top clients as well as Hudson staff. With over 60 years of fash- ion retailing experience, River Island is one of the most well- known and loved brands. River Island is renowned for its stylish and affordable fash- ion. Its unique touches enable the brand to standout from the rest of the High Street. River Island is the ultimate destination for great going- out looks and occasion wear, amazing denim and fabulous bags and shoes. The new River Island store is on Level 1 at, Bay Street ON the anniversary of Mro Joseph Vella's sudden demise last year, the next lecture at Il-Ħaġar museum in Pjazza San Ġorġ, Victoria, will be de- livered in English by Dr Maria Frendo on Friday 22 February at 7.30 pm. This, the first Joseph Vella memorial lecture, is titled "Jo- seph Vella: A Man for all Sea- sons" and will be followed with the official opening of a tempo- rary Exhibition about Profes- sor Vella as a pioneer in the use of Maltese texts. Il-Ħaġar is the proud owner of the Joseph Vella Music Archive, donated by him on this cultural centre's fifth anniversary. Entrance is free but booking on events@heartofgozo.org.mt is recommended. Other events for these anni- versaries include two concerts on Saturday: sacred motets by the Liverpool Cathedral Choir (St George's Basilica at noon) and Joseph Vella's composi- tions (Aula Mgr Giuseppe Far- rugia at 8pm). Sunday 24 offers 11am Mass with the participa- tion of the Laudate Pueri Choir at St George's and Lunch. Talk about Mro Vella at Il-Hagar musuem 22 February will see the opening of an exhibition about Professor Vella as a pioneer in the use of Maltese texts
