M2 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 17 MARCH 2019 MOTORING ON Tuesday 12 March, Enemed marked another important milestone and goal in its objec- tive to improve and embrace motorsports in Malta by signing a three-year sponsorship agree- ment with the MDRA (Malta Drag Racing Association). This is what Enemed Executive Chairman, Kevin Chircop, had to say: "From its inception three years ago, Enemed's purpose has al- ways been based on increasing the level and potential of its in- dustry. In line with this strategy, we have always striven to be one of the prime contributors to Maltese motorsport organi- sations. We have done it with power boating, Hill Climb races, and drifting competitions, and we will continue doing it with MDRA. "We feel that for MDRA, which is one of the main found- ers of motorsports here in Mal- ta, it is about time that they take the leap and continue striving for success. Unfortunately for these organisations, support is not an easy thing to acquire. "The scope behind our con- tractual agreement which spans over three years, is based on our belief that instead of pro- viding the organisation with a one-time lump sum, we will be supporting the organisation for a longer period of time. We will be providing these organi- sations with a stable stepping stone and giving them the op- portunity to up their game and eventually attain the interest of other sponsors that will help the industry.' Charles Camilleri, from the MDRA committee, had only words of praise for Enemed. "From our end, the MDRA, we would like to thank Enemed and Mr Chircop for their gen- erosity and support," he said. "It has been a great pleasure to discuss the motorsport indus- try with someone who keeps an open mind and believes in the potential we possess. With this three-year sponsorship we will be able to develop the MDRA, increasing our safety proce- dures, and continue to grow and succeed, even on an inter- national basis."
