M6 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 17 MARCH 2019 MOTORING CELEBRATING its 30th Year Anniversary, the Farm Tractor and Machine Trade Association (FTMTA) has expanded the an- nual FTMTA Farm Machinery Show to include various motor industry exhibitors. FTMTA is the representative body of the farm machinery industry in Ire- land, and is one of the longest established trade bodies in the country, having existed in one form or another since 1913. The show boasted over 160 exhibit- ing firms ranging from high-end farming vehicles to everyday family automotive cars. SsangYong Automotive Ire- land Limited (SAIL), a subsidi- ary company within Famalco Group, exhibited in this show with the primary objective of regenerating the brand's iden- tity in Ireland by displaying SsangYong's most popular ve- hicles including Musso, Rex- ton, Tivoli and XLV. During the show, attendees had the op- portunity to take a close look at these models, and to personally talk to the product specialists about the advantages of owning a SsangYong. Country Manager John McK- enna, excitedly stated, "We've had a fantastic turnout despite the bad weather. It just goes to show how the SsangYong vehi- cles have generated a great deal of interest within the public." Despite the prevailing strong winds and gloomy overhead clouds, the trade fair registered an attendance of over 20,500 enthusiastic guests. SAIL is very satisfied with the feedback re- ceived from its prospective cus- tomers. We have a great strategy in place for SsangYong Ireland and so far its execution is giv- ing us very encouraging results. SsangYong Automotive Ireland feel that the first participation was a beneficial experience and are already making plans to at- tend next years FTMTA event.
