ONLY 42 out of 334 commercial outlets on Gżira
and Sliema's seafront are physically accessible for
disabled persons, a report has found.
The report, issued by the Commission for the Rights
of Persons with Disability (CRPD) on Tuesday, found
that 292 outlets on the two towns' seafront do not
conform with the Access for All Design
Guidelines 2011 (AADG 2011) issued by
the Commission.

INFRASTRUCTURE Minister Ian
Borg has lamented what he said
was a year-and-a-half delay for the
Planning Authority to agree to a
rural policy reform.
He told MaltaToday that he had
presented the reform to the PA but
was still waiting on them.
"I haven't received anything yet,
and around a month ago I wrote to
them again. Now I hope that who-
ever is in charge will present to me
a good draft which improves on the
irregularities which one might find,
while keeping what has functioned
properly," he said.
Borg also denied any involvement
in the withdrawal of approved
plans for the controversial pro-
posed development on the pristine
Qala coast, after the project plans
were retracted by Gozi-
tan developer, Joseph
Portelli.
