NEWS Forget Santa's sleigh... hospital heroes come climbing down Dressed as Santa Claus and other related Christmas figures and different superheroes, members of the Mosta Scout Group yesterday abseiled down the facades of the Mater Dei wards which cater for young patients. Still dressed, the scouts toured the wards and distributed gifts. "We truly believe that such an event, during the Christmas spirit, entertained and put a big smile on several faces, both kids and parents," said Sean Bartolo, who helped organise 'Hospital Heroes' maltatoday | SUNDAY • 8 DECEMBER 2019 Xewkija motorcycle accident A 58-year-old man residing in Nadur was seriously injured after a collision between his Honda motorcycle and a Mer- cedes car. The accident happened at around 9.20am yesterday, after the car, which was driven by a 28-year-old who also resides in Nadur, collided in Triq l-Im- garr, Xewkija. The man was certified as suf- fering from serious injuries. Paceville bar fight A 48-year-old man residing in St Paul's Bay was seriously in- jured after getting stabbed, fol- lowing a fight at a St Julian's establishment. The police said that at around 8.30pm, a fight broke out in Sta Rita Road, St Julian's, be- tween the 48-year-old and two men whose identity is not yet known. The man was stabbed with a sharp object. The man was said to be suffering from serious injuries. Police investigations are on- going. Gozo stabbing A 24-year-old Somali man who resides in Zebbug, Gozo was seriously injured after getting stabbed on Friday night. The incident occurred at around 12am in Mungbell Street. A medical team and an ambulance were called and the man was rushed to the Gozo General Hospital, where he was certified for his injuries. A 23-year-old Somali who also resides in Zebbug was held for questioning by the police.
