maltatoday | SUNDAY • 8 DECEMBER 2019 21 COMMERCIAL 19 RE/MAX & Friends Foundation new book backed by former Manchester United players Quinton Fortune and Michael Clegg THE RE/MAX Malta Foun- dation last week launched its new coffee table book, A Tale of Two Cities, in collaboration with former Manchester Unit- ed players, Quinton Fortune and Michael Clegg. The book, which is now on sale for €55, features stunning photography by consultant pediatric heart specialist Prof Victor Grech that pairs im- ages of the Grand Harbour in Valletta with the iconic city of Manchester. It will raise much- needed funds for the Beating Hearts Foundation Malta – founded by Prof Grech – and which will be used to purchase equipment to detect congeni- tal heart disease. The book launch, which was held at RE/MAX's regional head offices at Portomaso in St Julian's, was attended by nu- merous distinguished guests, including Quinton Fortune and Michael Clegg themselves, as well as Ted Beckham – fa- ther of David Beckham, Joseph Tedesco – the President of the Local Manchester United Supporters Club, Prof Grech, and Board members from the Beating Hearts Foundation and RE/MAX & Friends Foun- dation, among others. "We are proud to have worked on this project with Prof Grech and to have spon- sored the printing of this book," said Albert Mamo, Chairman of the RE/MAX & Friends Foundation. "It was al- so a honour for us to have Mr Fortune and Mr Clegg with us, and to have their support on the initiative." Fortune is South African, and he played for Manchester United as a full back between 1999 and 2006. Clegg is a former English footballer who played as a midfielder and right back for Manchester United from 1995 until 2002. Today he is the current first team strength and power coach, taking after his father Mick Clegg, who coached the likes of the Class of '92, Cris- tiano Ronaldo and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The new interest rates will be applicable to Fixed Term Deposits opened or re- newed as from 3 December 2019; the interest rates on existing term deposits will remain valid until maturity. Interest rates on other de- posit accounts will change with effect from 3 February 2020. Bank of Valletta has re- tained the same interest rates for the past two years despite rising negative rates, choosing to absorb most of the impact of negative inter- est costs on deposits rather than passing them on to all of its customers.
